Where do you take little girls for a hair cut?

I've been cutting my daughter's hair at home, but it's getting to the point where her hair is outgrowing my ability to control it. So where do you take your little girl for a haircut? A kiddie salon? Your hair salon? Or do you continue to give haircuts at home until she's old enough to complain about it? It seems like a waste of money to take a toddler to a real salon, but I don't want to send my little girl to a barber shop with her older brothers either.

I take mine to a kiddie salon. I would never cut their hair myself. My mother used to cut my hair when I was a kid and did a terrible job so I'm leaving it to the professionals. I've taken them to places like Super Cuts and the haircuts were not very good. Even though it kills me to pay $16 for a trim, they do a much better job at the kid place as they have tons of experience cutting squirmy kid's hair. I take them every 3 or 4 months.

I take mine to the lady that cuts my hair. She does a great job with them!

I could never cut my kids hair... it's super fine and curly so I'd probably make them look like little orphan Annie. They've had four hair cuts. The first was at a kiddie salon. Nice cut, $18 each. But the closest kiddie salon is an hour away so I needed to find something closer. Second hair cut was at my nice salon. The cut was fine, but it cost $45 per girl, not something I was prepared to pay on a regular basis. The third hair cut we took the girls to my husband's barber. It was the best cut yet. The guy worked miracles with their hair. We went back for another cut just a few weeks ago, got a different barber - and still great. So I'm sold on the barber. It was only $12 and they look great. Plus, they love going with Dad.

I've taken them to my hairdresser since it was time for their first haircut. And I'll continue taking them there for as long as I can! She's so patient with them and does a great job. And bonus, the first few cuts, she only charged me $5! And this past year increased it to a whopping $10, add to that, my haircut is only $25, plus the great job, I'm good.

I don't even remotely trust myself to go near their hair with scissors. And at this point, even if I was brave enough to, they probably wouldn't let me. They'd tell me "only Kayla is allowed to cut our hair!"

Because of their bangs and my new shorter haircut, we go every 5 weeks.

We've had their hair cut 3 times. Twice at the kiddie salon (great each time) and once at Great Clips (awful, almost as expensive as the kiddie salon and the woman had an attitude). I trimmed their bangs in between and did an awful job, so cutting their whole head of hair would be a disaster. It's a talent I do NOT possess.

We've been to two places, great clip or the like, always been fine and it's pretty cheap. I don't trust myself to do a good job!

I take them to the same hairdresser that I go to, she works out of her home.

I have yet to find some place nice to get my daughters hair cut at. i have tried Borics, Super Cuts, Great Clips and they all are pretty bad. I am probably going to start taking her to the girl that cuts my hair, but hope she doesn't charge me that much.

I personally have not taken them anywhere yet. Miss Addison took herself to the Salon De Addison yesterday and chopped her bangs off  thank goodness Travis caught her as she was going for the reverse mohawk.

I do the haircuts in the family. Right now, it's just easier that way...not to mention it saves us money! When DD gets older and wants an actual style change, we will have to get it done professionally.

I don't see why she can't go to a barber shop if you think the barber is good with kids. I used to love going to my dad's barber -- it was special Daddy-daughter time. :)

I started off taking them to my stylist, who is good with kids and she only charged us $10 per kid.

But there was one day that she was busy and the kids really needed a haircut (we were about to get pictures taken) -- we wound up at Lollilocks (a kiddie salon), and it was all over. They have chairs shaped like zoo animals, and the decor is all pastel, and they get sparkle spray in their hair and a lollipop when they're done. Who could compete with that? And it's worth $16 per kid if they enjoy going and don't fight me about it.
