    hello, ladies!

dh and i are all signed up for several bf'g classes and i am going to start going to support group meetings in a few weeks--trying to get prepared! now, however, i want to find the best way to sit comfortably for bf'g. at babies r us they have several gliders that are comfortable but they do not seem large enough at all--especially if you use an ez2 nurse pillow (which i ordered at the suggestion of many of you forumers!).

so, just wondering...... where do you sit for bf'g? did you order a special chair? do you have enough back support w/whatever you use?

    thanks a bunch!

I want a Dutalier glider in the worst way, but still haven't gotten one :( They look wonderful though! I always tandem nursed my kids on the couch b/c the EZ 2 nurse was so big!

I use the couch too, with the EZ2nurse pillow. With the inner pillow behind me and another small pillow on top for my upper back it's quite comfy. You'll need a little stool too. Mine is about 7 inches high. Good luck! We do use the rocker a lot though for soothing the babies. Especially Daddy!

The couch (or bed if it's nighttime) for tandem. When I single feed, I sit wherever is the easiest and most comfortable - La-Z-Boy, floor, bed, couch. Now, I mostly single feed at night (unless they are both screaming) and I have a regular glider in the girls' bedroom.

    HTH.

I love my Ikea Ektorp chair. It's just big enough for the EZ pillow and the arms are high enough to support my elbows when I'm feeding them one at a time. Not a great suggestion for those of you with bad backs, though,as it is a bit of a stretch to pick them up from or set them down into their bouncies.

I sit in an oversized lazy boy with NO pillows. I used my EZnurser once, hated it, am getting rid of it (whole nother story but it has been very hard to get rid of!!) LOL I am a minority here in saying it is WAY easier to use my arms and knees as a prop to tandum nurse than pillows. I keep meaning to take a picture of how we sit, maybe i will do that today, it is easier to see than to explain. I put my babies tummy to tummy between my legs, latch one to each side and rest their heads in the crook of my elbows. When they were itty bitty newborns I football held them both, recliner foot rest up, propped my feet up on it so my knees were bent, held one baby head in each hand and rested my hands on my knees.... maybe I will take a pic with some of the girls' baby dolls to show LOL! I hope I am making sense. ANyway tandum nursing for me has been comfy and a great experience I am trying to give you advice in hopes it will help you have the same great experience.

I used the couch with my ez2nurse pillow buckled around me and the smaller pillow behind me for support. I found the bed & floor too uncomfortable with the pillow.

You're not alone! I can't stand those bulky pillows. I've tandem nursed on my couch, bed, recliner, back seat of a car, and yesterday on the table at the pediatrician's office. It's just easier and less fuss for me to do it sans 3 ft. pillow. I ended up discovering this when I was going out of town and realized half-way through the trip (at feeding time) that I had left the pillow. One way that I find easy and actually somewhat discreet if you have a Hooter Hider is to do a cradle hold with one baby in left arm (for me). Then take something as small as a sweater or blanket and put it on that baby's legs/lap while latching the next baby on to the rightin a football hold. So essentially they're both facing the same direction, not each other. That probably made no sense. Guess I'll have to take a pic too :)

I can nurse about anywhere with zero pillows as long as it is a short session. It basically just takes arm strength! (which I know we all have from lugging our lovies around!) I nurse in the backseat a lot, the pedis office in a metal chair... if I have a foot stool, the couch, bed but usually my Lazy boy! It def. can be done without pillows. I too have gotten in the habit of taking a receiving blanket and leaving it in the backseat so it is there if I need it for a little extra support.

PS glad I am not the only "pillow hater" here in the BF!! LOL

I use my ez2 nurse on the floor in the girls' room for night time feedings and my bed or the couch for day time!

I've only ever got comfy with the ez nurse pillow on my couch. I tried it in bed but just didn't work as well. Gliders with arms are worthless with the big pillows but I do like them for nursing one at a time (without pillow) and for rocking.
