My kiddos are in need of a haircut. Where do go to get their haircuts?

We have only had one haircut so far, and my SIL is a hairstylists and cut it for them for their first time. She did a great job, but she is too busy lately and I really need to find some place for them to go to. Do you take your kids to a barber shop, kids haircut shop, or any hair stylists? Any recommendations? How are this kids haircut places? I am thinking about going there. Are they worth the money? How do your kids deal with haircuts by strangers at this age - almost 2 1/2?

Thanks, in advance, for your input. :)

A friend of mine has a shop down the street that we go to. The boys know her, which makes it so much better. They sit down in the chair all by their self and get thei hair cut. Of course I promise them a new toy each time, ;)

My oldest DD we take her to Great Clips for a haircut, but she is almost 7.

We have not cut Emilie's hair yet. But Trevor has gotten 2 by my Dad.

DH has a barber that he has gone to for years! He insisted that we take the babies there. Mikayla had her hair cut (yes she is a girl and went to the barber...who was a female hairstylist) because her hair grew faster. Then I took her again to JC Penny salon where I get my hair done. Our third time was back at the barber again this time Mikayla and Michael got there haircut there. (Michael's first time). Michael's second hair cut was just 2 days ago at Great Clips. I can't cut hair at all unfortunately.

Pictures of haircuts at the barber.

We go to Fantastic Sams, nothing fancy. We have a great little kids place right by our house, but I just think it is silly to pay all that money for a simple haircut. So DH takes Ben when he goes to get his haircut, and brings Hannah maybe every other time to get a trim.

We took DS to have his first haircut this week. We went to one of those kid haircut places called "Fun Cuts." It was $20 before tip, but for us it was well worth it. He got to sit in a race car chair and play with toys the whole time while I stood right along side him. The stylist was very patient and had several tricks to keep my son happy which is a feat because he doesn't even like to have his hair combed.

I would like to pay less, but until he can sit still for more than ten seconds, we will be spending a little extra $ to spare him (and me) the trauma.

    Good luck.

We go to a place called Cool Cuts for Kids. Katelyn has only been a few times and Blake pretty much goes every 2 months. Yes, they cost a bit more, but they love going and we have no issues, so it is worth it to me.

I cut everyones hair including dh's. I'm the only one who goes to a hairdresser. I've just taught myself over the years. I'm pretty darn good at it too. None of my kids have a simple cut like a buzz or anything. Lots of layering and shaping. Just tooting my own horn lol!

We've only taken DS and we go to DH's barber. I let him sit on my lap and does just fine. I was shocked.

We just took the girls for their first trim this weekend. The woman that cuts my hair did it for us. It is an adult beauty salon and spa. Tessa did great. She sat on the booster seat and didn't move. Regan, on the other hand, wouldn't be still and was climbing out of the chair, so I ended up holding her while she got hers trimmed. We just had the bangs trimmed so they wouldn't hand in their eyes. It actually went better than I thought it would and my hairdresser didn't charge us anything for it. I will have to give her a big tip next time I get my hair cut!
