we have ours sharing a crib, but we put them at opposite ends. if we put them too close together they tend to start kicking each other in the night. they are close enough, however, to touch hands (which they do, it's so cute), and then i wonder if maybe i should move them close together? does it matter that they shared one side of my stomach thru my whole pregnancy? (i was lopsided the whole time, they were only on my left side, snuggled close)... what do/did you all do?

They sleep in their bouncy chairs but when they sleep in the crib we swaddle them and put them next to each other. They do so much better. When one cries adn we take that one out, the other one stirs because IMO they feel lonely. They do so much better together. Maybe you can put them closer but not touching. congrats on the twins, I don't know if I got a chance to tell you that. Do you have any pics?

For the first 2 months we had ours in a Pack and Play with the bassinet attachment put together, next to our bed. They slept within sight of each other and could hear and feel their twin around them. It also helped with the frequent wake ups. Almost right to the day, 2 months, we began puttin them in separate cribs in the nursery. We knew it was time to separate them because they were starting to bop each other on the head during the short bursts of flailing! They love sleeping in their own space now (cribs end to end) and rarely disturb each other.

Mine sleep in their swings. Sometimes when Hayley is fussy she'd rather go in the vibrating bouncey seat. I think they were in the crib together the first couple of nights but since have been separated. I think because of the reflux...Hayley doesn't like to be on her back too long.

Mine slept side by side in the crib until they were 6 months old. Now they sleep in separate cribs close enough to see but not touch

mine sleep swaddled together in the middle of my bed. (all of my babies have slept in my bed. never had a problem. it works for us, but isn't something i would push on others) my twins sleep better when they are together. also, being in bed with me and dh is good for nursing. once latched on, you can fall back asleep.

During the day my twins sleep in the pack in play or their bouncy chairs downstairs. At night they sleep together in their crib. We had them in the pack in play in our bedroom in the beginning, but my DH made me put them in the crib and it has worked out much better. I get more sleep.

when they were short enough we put them short wise in the crib next to each other and then whne they were bigger we put a head in each corner of the crib. They shared a crib till 14 months

They sleep in the basinette together (it's the twin pack n' play). I couldn't bring myself to keep them apart when they were so tiny. But, we're about to have to move them because they're getting too big to share.

For the first 3 months they slept in the bassinet part of the pnp together (side by side). When they were about 3 months old they started moving more and rolling into each other, kicking, etc, so we moved them into their cribs in the nursery. They each have their own crib but they are right next to each other so they can still see each other thru the slats.

Mine are 5 months and they still sleep together in one crib in my room. They haven't bothered each other so far and I hope it stays that way. I love them sleeping together. Congrats on your twins

Mine slept separately in their own cribs from the beginning. If I couldn't get them to sleep in the beginning, they would occasionally sleep in their bouncer. I wanted mine to sleep together, but the crying one would wake the other so they slept better apart.

First 2.5 months both slept in one co-sleeper, then one in co-sleeper, one in bed with us (alternating every feeding). Now at 4.5 months, both in one crib, head in each corner. Every time I peek in there one has their head in the other one's bum or a foot in his mouth...too cute!

Mine slept swaddled next to each other in the p n' p bassinet for the first few weeks, and then we moved them to their room, and they slept swaddled next to each other in one crib for the next few months. After that we moved them to different cribs (and still swaddled), because they seemed to be waking each other up, being so close.
If they're sleeping well, I'd do whatever works!

Oh, they are so precious! What adorable little babies.

Ours slept in pretty much the same arrangement as yours in the beginning. When they were a few months old, we separated them for naps, and a month or so ago we put them in separate cribs for night sleep too, since they were just getting too big and mobile.

You said it - if it works, don't fix it!

My boys refused to sleep on flat surfaces for the first 3 months. I was just talking about this today, about how I was beside myself with anxiety because I thought they would never sleep in a crib.

They slept in their baby papsans for the first 3 months.

I moved them into bassinettes next to my bed at 3 months, kept them there until about 5 months. (They did obviously eventually sleep on flat surfaces)

They are now (at 7 mo) in 2 portacribs that are next to my bed. These porta cribs hold up to 30 lbs each (I had DD in one of them until she was 9 mo old)

My girls slept in the cosleeper next to my bed very close to each other for 8 weeks.
Then they went into one crib until 4 months.
Then they went into seperate cribs.

They STILL like to take naps in their swings but will go in their cribs with a fight if I make them!

Mine have been in separate cribs since they came home at 5 days old.....I wasn't opposed to keeping them together, but they were separate in the preemie nursery, and they slept so well separately (and never woke each other with their crying), that we just decided to keep it that way....

My boys shared a bassinette in our room for about 5 weeks. Then we figured out they weren't sleeping well because they were waking each other up. They started sleeping for much longer periods of time after that. We then moved them into a crib which they shared. We had them sleep in there together until they were about 3 months old. They started sleeping through the night at about 2-3 months old. Then all of a sudden they started waking each other up in the middle of the night again. Andrew pretty much stayed in one place but Nathan moves around like crazy and would kick Andrew and wake him up and once Andrew woke up Nathan would wake up, so we moved them into their own cribs and they sleep great. It's funny though because if one of them wakes up and we bring him into our room about 5-10min later the other one will wake up and start crying. It's like they can sense that the other one isn't there. For naps they either sleep in seperate cribs or on my bed.

I know it was harder for me to seperate them than it was for them to be seperated. They slept much better apart but I think the way we transitioned them was what they needed.

Anyway, that's just what worked for us.

Your girls are beautiful BTW!!!! Congratulations!!!

ours were in the same crib for the first month...no matter how far apart we put them in the crib starting out - they wound up snuggled up together
