Lately I have had been having difficulty finding time to shower. Right now the girls usually get up about 5:30/6 am to eat and are ready to start their day. For the time being while up in our room I put one in a swing buckled in and the other in a bouncy buckled in, cartoons on and hop in the shower. It is working for now although I know long-term they will be less content to do so. My only other choices I see are showering before they are up at like 5 in the morning or showering at night after they go to bed. I work during the day so taking one while they nap during the day is not an option.

    I shower while they're napping from 9am-11

hopefully others will have other ideas.... but mine are in major seperation anxiety mode and melt if i leave the room to get something let alone shower-

I used to do the cartoon babysitter (or at night after they went to bed) but now that they nap well and we have a schedule I shower once they go down for their morning nap (which is fabulous because I cant function without my shower), I just bring the monitor in the bathroom with me.

During their morning nap time. Good question...I've always wondered what other mommies do.

I shower at night when DH is home. I was always a morning shower type person, but that has changed quickly!! I would not be comfortable showering whle they are unattended, even if they are napping. I have showered once or twice while they were napping and took the monitor into the bathroom with me, but I showered so quickly - not worth it.
I would guess it is easier to do if you have a large bathroom and can take them in their bouncy seats into the room, but ours is too small for that.

I bring the bouncy seats into the bathroom and talk or sing to them while I shower. They love it!

I usually shower when they are asleep from 12 to 2, or I have two exersausers, or in their cribs.

If you have to work during the day and can't shower during their nap, then I think your idea of showering before they get up or at night is probably the best option.

I never felt comfortable leaving them awake and showering, but that's just nervous nelly me. ;)

Exersaucer, or if they're fussy, I put them in their bumbos on the bathroom floor and they watch. That is, if I manage TO shower on any given day :)

Usually I take a shower after all the kids are in bed so it's up and go in the morning. . . . but if I don't I give them their morning bottles and then put them together in one crib and let them play while I jump in and shower. Their cribs are still in my room and against the wall that I can see from the shower so they just play and watch me till I'm done.

I would think at night so it is one less thing to do in the morning!

    HA!!!

If/when I shower I do it after they eat & are napping (if I am lucky) around 7 or 8 am, if that doesnt work then I bring them both in the bathroom with me & they sit in their bouncy seats & play with toys while I sing & talk to them - most of the time the sound from the shower & fan put them to sleep.
If worst comes to worst then I shower at night after they go to bed at 7:30/8'ish, im not a big fan of showering at night though, but I gotta do what I gotta do :)

I used to take one during their first nap at that age. Now, I get up and take a shower when I first hear them talking in the morning, or before.

I either take it at night after they are in bed or in the morning after they had their bottle. I leave them in their crib with toys. I know they are safe that way. If they cry, it's only a 5-10min shower so no harm done.

I take it when my girls go down for their morning nap. Once I make sure they are asleep, I hope in. I feel fresh and new for when they get up. Their nursery/crib are right along the wall of the bathtub. So if they wake up, I can hear them loud and clear...usually because they are kicking so hard in their crib!

I think at your girls age I would bring them in the shower in bouncy seats with me and toys attached to it with links. Or DH would keep an eye on them, if they were already up.

Now on the days I have to leave for work, I hop in the shower before I get them. They're usually awake already, but my girls are happier and less clingy if I let them 'talk' for a little after waking up so that works for me.

Or if I had a softball game the night before, I shower when I get home from that and don't bother with another shower in the am...mmmmhh, sleeping in (relatively speaking!)

But on the days I don't work, I take one while their napping or if we have to go somewhere, I'll grab one before DH leaves for work.

they are usually sleeping and I have the monitor in earshot in case they wake up screaming. Not that I can get to them in the speed of light.

They are normally in the shower with me. Before they could move around, I would lay them on towels next to the bathtub in just diapers. After I washed myself, I would pick up one at a time and bathe them, then put them back on the floor wrapped in a towel. Now they just sit in the bathtub while I shower, then I wash them. Gets pretty crowded, but I think it's the fastest way to get us all washed every morning. Occasionally I shower before they get up so then I just bathe all the girls together.

We wake up at 6 am and I feed them. Then Sofia goes back in the cosleeper, swaddled, and Maya goes in the swing that I bring to our room. DH is sleeping (he works nights). I eat breakfast and drink coffee then usually the girls are asleep and I shower.

When they were little I would put them in the bouncy chairs with me in the bathroom.

When they wouldn't stay in the bouny chairs anymore, I just showered when they were napping or DH was home

I take one during their first morning nap, have yet to do it while they are awake though, altho I may try excersaucer and bouncy chair option - but it would be a quick shower as they only last about 10min before they need a change of activity!

I try to shower at 5:30 am before they get up, so they are in their crib. But if they happen to get up or on the weekends I will put them in their bouncy chairs in the bathroom (and I have a tiny bathroom, they go one behind each other, and I can barely squeeze by). Or in the hallway outside the bathoom in a swing or exersaucer.

I need my shower, and I feel that as long as I know they are fed and changed they are okay. I put them in their favorite swing or chair, and I run up and shower. After I get dressed I make sure they aren't crying before I do my hair, etc. I should note that if they are crying my hair never does get done!

Is it because they are my 4th and 5th that I don't feel the need to bring them with me? Maybe...

During naptime, or, if I am rushed and can't wait for naptime, they come in the bathroom with me - in bouncers. Today, I had all the kids ready to go, but I still had to shower (isn't that always the case? Momma comes last?  ), so I turned a cartoon on for DD, put the boys in their carseats, brought them into the bathroom... 15 minutes later were were getting our shoes on and heading out the door!

I shower around 6am while they are talking and playing in thier cribs after they wake up. We have to be out the door to daycare by 7:30, so early am is the only time I have. I'm just not a shower the night before kinds of person......

I shower while they either nap or are happy in their swings. Our bathroom is way to small to take them with me, besides I enjoy that few minutes of peace to get ready for the day.

When DH is home and can watch all 4 kids . I have to admit there are some days when I am too busy to shower now that the older two are out of school for the summer.

Swings, bouncies, or cribs - anywhere seemingly safe. The are 6 mos now so, so far so good. Usually they are sleeping by the time I get out. I worry about what I will do once they are mobile. They probably wont stand for being buckled un anywhere anymore. Maybe in their roomwith the baby gate up or door closed??? I am gona start a new topic about that one.

I shower when DH is still at home. Either at night or early in the morning. I have two older kids 6 and almost 3 and worry about them disturbing the babies or trying to pick them up so I wait until another adult is home.

I shower fairly quickly. I put the boys in their cribs in their room with some board books and the CD player going. When they were on 2 naps I did this right after their morning nap. Now I do it whenever it fits in (they just take one mid-day nap now). Sometimes they fuss and cry/call out - they're annoyed to be in their cribs instead of playing downstairs with me. But I'm okay with this. I don't think it hurts them to know that every once in a while (like for 5 minutes each morning) they're not the centre of the universe. As part of a family, they need to know that other people in the house have needs too. Mommy needs a shower each day or she's miserable. Just like they love to have a bath every night. My boys have learned to trust that I'll be back soon and they don't complain much any more. Maybe I sound harsh (hopefully not) but I think this is the best system for all of us in the long run. Me showering at night, at 5 a.m. or not at all was making me seriously grumpy and THAT was not doing the kids any good! I'm a hard-working mama and I deserve to be clean!

We have two of the jumpers that attach to the door. Our bathroom has a doorway from our room to the vanity area, then on one side is the closet and the other the room with the shower and toilet. I put one jumper on the first doorway and the other on the doorway to the shower room. That way they can see each other while they jump. They are close enough that I can hear them if they fuss, and then I just stick my head out of the shower curtain and play peek a boo with them. :)

During the week, I can usually get up before them, and now that it's summer DH is at home to watch/listen for them while I shower. I do the above on the weekends though (on Saturday DH and DD go out to run errands and on Sunday he takes her to church early with him (the boys and I meet them later) so usually I am home alone with the twins on those days).
