I check in here often, but it seems like all of the posts are late pg topics or birth announcements... not too many early pg posters like myself. Any out there??

I'm 16w4d pregnant so pretty early still. Don't worry we're on here but probably just don't post as much since we don't know very much yet!! I'm sure as our pregnancies progress we'll have more and more questions as well as more answers for the new 'early' ones.

So nice to see more early twin moms out there. :)

I have been quite ill -- hyperemesis, actually and I'm to the point where I have to give myself a daily IV. :( I've also got complete placenta previa as I said earlier, and that causes lots of spotting/bleeding. :( The good part is I have to have weekly u/s to check on the placenta and babies. :)

Hi, I'm due in December; I'm 14 weeks, 5 days pregnant. I don't post too much and almost all of my postings are responses because everything has been working out great for my pregnancy so far. My opinion of why there are so many late posters is because more goes on as your pregnancy progresses. What I really like about reading the postings of what's going on with people later is that I feel I'll be better prepared for what lies ahead of me.

My last Dr. appt was at 12 weeks and I don't get another until I'm 18 weeks, so I really don't have too much to say yet until I see my peri for the first time. Even then, I hope all I have to say is, "the babies are doing great!".

i wanted to know if any mommy to be with twins are having any kind of pain cuz i get them really bad and my doctor keeps telling me is just the ligaments, but i have 3 other children and that has never happened to me before it may be the ligaments but i'm growing to be a little paranoid and sometimes think something might be wrong because twins are consired high risk thats my main fear

I'm only 13 weeks, but I have a lot of pain, too, and the doctors have reassured me it's ligaments. The worst is when I sneeze -- it hurts so bad!!!

    Congrats everyone!!!

Hi, I'm 11 weeks pregnant with twins, due 1/2/08!

For me, no m/s (yeah!), no pain to speak of other than a few growing pains, and all in all feeling good. My major symptoms have been very sore breasts, fatigue (wow!), gagging when I brush my teeth, and as of earlier this week, out-of-control emotions. But all in all, I can't complain -- I feel very very lucky!

I've had one u/s so far at 9 weeks - when we found out it was twins - and my next one is scheduled next Friday, when I'll be 12 weeks. Can't wait for that appt!!! Very anxious ...

Congrats to all the other new moms-to-be!! Such an exciting time, isn't it!? :yahoo:

congrats on such good news i also had really bad fatigue and gagging and of course feeling very tired -_- and not to mention my emotions too, my husband says that i have it with him but is not like that things that did not bother me before now it does and is like a roller coaster ups and downs all the way but you'll start getting over it soon about 16 to 20 weeks most commenly.

It often takes people a while to join after spending some time as "lurkers" so there are probably some more early pregnancy women out there reading topics but not participating just yet. I took about a month before I actually joined. :) Congratulations on your twins!

I am 3 days ahead of you. Due December 18.

Sorry to hear you have been so sick. I have been sick too but I have not needed an IV or anything yet.
I am lucky though that my m/s eases up at 4PM and I can have a relatively good evening.

I hope it eases up for you soon.

First off, i'm sure that there are pleanty of other "early" mommies out there that are just so busy they havent really gotten to get on this site much. Once you ladies start getting bigger and are able to do somewhat less than you have been, there may be more as well. Keep in mind that you can still ask questions about being pg- some of us remember how we felt and were back then...plus like myself, some of us are pg again (with one this time though) and can help out too. Anyways...congrats on the babies! Having twins is great and hopefully your pregnancy continues to go great and enjoy those ultrasounds and seeing your babies.

I just wanted to say that I had pains when i was pg with the twins. I aske dthe doctor and he tol dme that it was just ligaments like yours said. If you think about it, your body is growing double what it grew with one. there are two babies to fit in there so ofcouse things are goign to stretch more than they did and faster than they did. I hope that things go well for you and remember, twins ar emainly high risk b/c there ar two and you can deliver early. Granted there are more problems that can arise, some women have twins and arent even considered high risk. My CIL had twins and up unti lthe day that she delivered, she never had seen a peri and she delivered at 35 weeks i believe. The only reason she saw him then was b/c she needed a higher level nicu for her babies b/c they were early an dthey transfered her to a different hospital. It depends on the doctors i guess.

Good Luck ladies and remember that all of us twin mommies are here to answer questions for you as well.

I've been having horrible round ligament pains, the really bad ones usually come suddenly at night. I also have had extensive surgery in the past (colon resection, appendectomy, gall bladder removal) so I have a lot of internal scar tissue that has to stretch out. I've also just started dealing with some sciatic pain...pain in my right hip, that radiates down my leg. Even with those pains, I'd much rather have them then the morning sickness I had from 4 weeks to 12 weeks. Thank goodness it's finally gone!

I am only 6 weeks and expecting twins. I haven't posted, other than to ask a question about my first u/s, because I am sort of paranoid about "jinxing" myself! LOL. I miscarried in 11/06, so have been really on edge with this pg. Then I just found out it's twins on Thursday, but we were only able to visualize one heartbeat so far. So I guess I'm still kind of feeling like I'm on the fence - I'll really believe it when we see two heartbeats!!! I see a peri in 2-3 weeks (they haven't called with my appt yet), and will have another u/s then. In the meantime, I'll probably just keep lurking!

I am sixteen weeks today. I do not know what I am having yet. My doctor tried at 14 weeks but the babies refused to hold still long enough for her to see. This pregnancy has been completely different for me. In fact before I found I was having twins I made the joke that had I been this sick with my son he probably would have been a only child.
I hate it when people ask me how I am feeling because I don’t really think they want to hear that I am sick constantly, my stomach hurts, and I am exhausted they just want to hear “I am fine thanks”.
I have not posted any question so far because so far all the questions I have thought of someone else has already asked. I am so glad I found this site though because it has helped to relieve some of my fears.

That's so funny - I completely agree! There is very rarely a moment lately when I don't feel bad for one reason or another (heartburn, cramps, ligament pains, nausea) so it's gotten to a point when I hate being asked how I am doing. I know that is just something people ask everyday without thinking and they are just trying to be nice, but I always feel pretty crappy, so I hate answering. I've had to leave work a few times (or call in) because my dizziness or cramps have gotten bad and I hate going back into work the next day and having everyone ask me if I'm feeling better. The answer is no, I'm not feeling better, but I'm here anyway. Sorry to rant...I guess I'm crabby today.

Hey! I'm here Sommer ;) I don't post much either. I do check in and read some, but like you don't see a lot of those as early on as I am.

I'm almost 16w and I hate to admit it, but feeling good most of the time. I felt like I wanted to drop the whole first trimester from exhaustion. I still get more tired more often and love to sleep and sleep, but I can make it through a work day ok. I had no m/s per se. I have GERDS and have had bad flares throughout the pg so far (yesterday was a BAD one). The worst thing so far for me in the second trimester has been the horrible debilitation headaches. My Ob finally gave me something for them (other than tylenol) and it helps some, but I try not to take it too often. I get the headaches every 2-3 days and they last for at least a day. I've had a lot of stretching and pulling and some sharp pains as well as some weird cramp type feelings right over the pubic bone. All normal according to the nurses. <_<

I agree that I don't people really want to hear how I am when they ask. When I answer something other than "good" or "fine" they get this glazed look. Oh well. I'm not always good or fine and I'm not going to lie.

Anyway, this is me and I'm around. Nice to see you all :)

Wow! I had no idea there were so many other new moms-to-be until you posted. I'm due November 19 - 18 weeks tomorrow, Monday. It'd be nice if there were more postings of planning for twins here. I basically learn about possible pregnancy related experiences later on here. Also, looking on this forum, I know there are plenty of others like me expecting twins. Everyone is very supportive and knowlegeble here, which is nice. Hope we hear more from you :).

I have pain too. I was having a lot in my lower ab. Doctor checked cervix - long and closed :D. She also said I was measuring 20 weeks. Two days later I "popped." I was starting to show and need maternity clothing. This was just last Thursday. It was my ligaments and uterus stretching. We probably stretch further and faster pregnant with twins.

I am early. I'm irregular, and wasn't trying so don't know my own estimated dates. But I am a lab tech and DO know that my HCG was ZERO on May 14th, and increased fast with a hcg of 75,919 on June 11(not even a month).... that's high, so I am curious if it is twins. The first ultrasound on May 31 showed a gestational sac of 5w1d. I had a 2nd sono for viability a week and a half later and then they told me the gestation was 6w5d....they only saw one heartbeat BUT from my research thus far, I have heard twins can be misdiagnosed on ultrasounds this early. Clearly if one is hiding I would be a case of identical not fraternal.

What is frustrating is finding early pg moms that actually HAD this sort of workup already to compare potential misdiagnosis.

    Hello, Chris and Kerry!!

So glad to see you all come out of the woodwork!

I hear those of you who feel crappy. And like someone else said, if I'd have felt this bad with pg #1, there'd have never been a pg #2.

I have an u/s tomorrow -- not a huge deal since I get one every week  -- but it's a more detailed one with measurements, etc... think there's a chance to see sexes yet, or still a bit too early??

Hi! I'm new here. I am 16 weeks pregnant with twins. These will be my first and they are natural. We are so excited to be blessed with having twins and will find out the sexes on the 28th. I can't wait!
So far I have a very easy and wonderful pregnancy. I experienced no M/S and just some mild nausea/food adversions in the beginning for a few days. I am starting to experience more round ligament pain now though, yuck!

    Hi all,
I'm an 'early pg mom' too - 14wks 3days today! I haven't posted much cause I've either asked my dr. or someone on here has already posted & gotten answers to the questions I had.
I'm a 1st time mom & we're having twins (as my hubby would say - we got the 'free deluxe upgrade from 1 to 2!) :) , so this site is really great! I heard about the site a couple wks ago when my mom & I were out to lunch. Mom got talking to a lady that was out with her twins, she to me I had to come check this site out & I'm glad I did! It's nice to know you're not "imagining" half of the off the wall stuff happening to you & nice to know you're not the only one out there having mulitples!! :D
