I was wondering..when you go out to run errands do go in between feedings or actually feed them while out? if you feed them while out how do you do it? (for those that don't hold their own bottles) Do you use the bathroom to change them first or wait until you get home? I've had them out a few times but always got back in time for the next feeding b/c I wasn't sure how to do it yet.
Once they're big enough to have good suction, I'd recommend using Podee bottles so that they can just hang out in the stroller and drink while you're out and about.
they need to be burped a couple of times when eating so I don't know if I can continue shopping etc. They also seem to play with those by popping them in and out even though I know they have good suction. Maybe I'll try those more at home to see if they get any better with them
In the beginning I planned trips immediately after feeding and arrived back home before the next. As they got a little older I started feeding them out and about. At the mall for example, when it was time to eat I would take them into the bathroom and change both diapers. I would then head to the food court and sit at a table. I would leave one child in the stroller (there was usually soo much activity that they were completely entranced). I would feed the faster eater first then put him back in and do Kayla. I always held them individually for bottles and they never learned (or should I say, I never taught them) to hold their own bottles so they were pretty used to waiting for their turn. Give it a try, I bet you will be just fine. If for some reason it isn't going as you would have hoped, head for the car !
I always plan to go out right after one feed and get back home before the next feed. It is tight sometimes considering our girls only go about 2hrs15min between feeds. I do find though that when they are in their car seats they tend to take longer naps. Have fun - it really does feel great getting out on your own with the babies.
If I am out and they are hungry, I feed them. I rarely went out though when they were little unless I had too. If I did, I would usually try to schedule it around their eating times, BUT if they happened to get hungry anyway, I did feed them. I usually had them in the stroller anyway, so I would stop and sit on a bench with them in front of me, and feed them that way.

Are you nursing or using formula? Nursing wise, I can't help. Formula wise, I use powdered formula (premeasured in bottles) with bottled water. It's already at room temperature and ready to go. I stand and feed them both at the same time. As for changing, I use the public restrooms, but my own changing mat. It's a bear to get the double stroller in the bathroom, but worth it. There is also a thing called a bottle sling. Ergo bottle sling I got these for my husband, but they work out in public as well. We are often out for a few hours at a time when we go to the doctor. It takes an hour and a half just to get there. Usually they will let me feed the twins in one of the rooms, if they are available. I spread out and make as much of a mess as I need to in order to get the babies fed. When you feed in public tho, expect a lot of comments like "You sure have your hands full". I got that one six times on our last outing.
I usually go out right after feeding, but sometimes I'll bring bottles and feed while shopping. I prop the bottles up with burp cloths and blankets and the girls are very content. I burp them one at a time. I just stop wherever I am and burp them. I am usually not out long enough to need to change diapers, so I don't change if it's pee, but change if it's poop. I will never use public bathrooms to change them, so I do it right in the stroller with a waterproof pad or in the car.

Sometimes not being at home was a distraction so keeping the routine as close to normal as possible even though we were away from home helped.
I always fed my babes in the car at that age. One bf and one bottles. At 4.5 months I started wedging bottles in their carriers on the stroller, but I don't think that's the safest. Enjoy going out now cause when you start a regular napping schedule, you'll likely be home more often Teri
I haven't ventured out with my girls yet. I'm not quite ready to take them out because they are stil small. It's nice to read the posts on how you manage with the feedings while out...I already have some anxiety about this.
I BF both, and so rarely I would feed in the handicapped bathroom stall somewhere. Pull a chair in there and nurse them. Otherwise like PP, I left ASAP after feeding and would have a helper with me. I had a shopping list and did the "divide and conquer" method with the list. The helper would also take one baby. Then we met back at the specified location and I would have twice the work done in half the time.
