Near the end of a twin pregnancy do you not get hungry cause you are soo big and bloat?? Is your stomach so squished that you get full fast?

yeah your uterus pushes up on your stomach so that it's squished and gets full really quickly.

I'm only 12 weeks but I eat much less than I did before I was pregnant even though I am making an effort to eat more. I get full easily and I also get gas more often which makes me feel extra bloated. It seems like I do best if I just snack every couple of hours and not really eat regular meals like I used to.

I couldn't eat much too. My problem is over drinking and left no room for food. I would wake up in the middle of the night and finish drinking one whole bottle of Gatorade. Thought I might be diabetic but I'm not.

I do that, too! It's almost like once I start the process of taking a drink I can't stop until the whole cup is gone. My DH swears I've become part Camel. :)

Yup! I would get so mad at the end bc I was really hungry for a nice meal and then would only be able to eat a few bites and I was full! I spent many nights "grazing" my supper and rewarming it 100x bc I wanted to finish but just couldn't in one sitting!

I barely ate my lsst month. A piece of toast would be my limit, and some meals I couldn't even finish that. The drinking is normal though. Your body is doubling it's blood supply for the babies, so it needs water.

So glad you asked that question because I have been concerned about not eating enough nurtrition for the twins. My appetite is terrible and it is so disappointing to be hungry for a specific dinner and then only able to eat a handful of bites. I feel like the water really fills me up but I don't want to cut down on that. I am starting to do two Ensure drinks a day since I lost 3 lbs. this week. I had been in the hospital for a few days due to contractions so that might have been the weight loss but my doc wants me to put it back on. She was concerned with the amount of protein I eat each day. I don't keep track but probably not enough so maybe the Ensure drinks might help. They are not tasty at all but maybe that could help you get some liquid nurtrition.

I really wish I could stop eating. I am starving 24/7 and eat all day long. I have already gained close to 40 pounds - argh. Im eating healthy stuff but I'm also eating sweets too, like ice cream & cheesecake. I have no control over it - Im just so hungry! I snack *all* day long. Im already thinking about lunch when Im eating breakfast. I really dont want to gain 100 pounds but I feel like Im gonna :(

mom of 2+2 - you could try some whey protein from GNC. I have some in Vanilla and it is really good, its a powder you add to milk - you can add peanut butter, bananas or chocolate to it and make it your own flavor too. It has alot more protein/serving - you can add as much or little as you want to. 1 scoop is 30g protein. You can also add some ovaltine to it if you think you need more vitamins & minerals too.

I ate ALL the time in the 2nd tri (1st tri I was too sick to eat), but now in the last 2 weeks I can barely eat 1/2 a sandwich. So I graze all day long and supplement with 2 ensure pluses per day. The eating definitely slowed down - at least volumewise.

I ate SO much in the first two trimesters (vomited quite a bit back up :bad: ) & gained around 30lbs by 28 weeks :shok: .

But from around 28 weeks, I haven't been able to eat anywhere near as much (I joke that my 2 year old DD eats more than me) & haven't gained any weight since then.

Both of my babies are still growing really well (around the 75th percentile) & I think they are living off the fat I gained & nutrients my body must have stored.

Although, the past fortnight I've been much hungrier again - maybe because the babies are starting to drop (but of course, now i have reflux to stop me eating lol)

Around 22 weeks I started feeling full and heartburnish every time I ate. I had to eat little bits throughout the day because I could not tolerate a big meal.

Since couple of you mentioned Ensure, I sent my husband to get some for me. I started drinking them 2 days ago and really liked them! Now I'm feeling better at least I know that I'm sendng some protein to my girls besides those OJ and cranberry juice! Thanks ladies.

I made it to 36 weeks and never stopped being hungry and eating everything in sight. I never got too full to eat. Too full to breathe, yes, but not too full to eat.

I ate pretty much constantly from start to finish. I guess towards the end, I did eat smaller amounts at a time. (I remember DH insisting that he wouldn't take my breakfast plate away until I finished my scrambled eggs.) But I could never go more than an hour (usually less) without eating something.

The only way in which I tapered off is that for the last few weeks, I only gained 1 lb a week rather than 2! My total weight gain was 70 lbs. But it all came off eventually.
