I'm just over 2 weeks post partum and I'm wondering when my pot belly will deflate. How long will it take? I lost most of my pregnancy weight, mainly due to a recent hospitalization w/ a post operative infection (from the c-section), but I still have a little belly. The skin on my belly also looks very wrinkled and saggy...will this go away? Any suggestions? Thanks :)

Are you able to do any situps yet? If the doctor okay's it, then you will want to ease into strengthening your core. As far as the wrinkled skins it does get better, however, it never really goes away. I work out 4 days a week, and am pre pregnancy size, it never trully vanishes. Good luck!

Woah! It's only been two weeks! Give your body some time, give yourself a break. I think it was a few months before I was sorta back to "normal".

Of course I hate to break it to ya but most people don't go all the way back to the way it was (even if they work out and everything). I think my belly looks fine/flat under clothes but I can see that it's poochier than it was even if no one else can see. As for the skin thing I think my stretch marks have faded a lot and I don't see them so much now, unless I bunch up all the skin with my hands then it's very obvious.

It took a good 4-6 weeks for my belly to go down. Don't get me wrong it is still fat but that's from overeating while I was pregnant. As far as the skin mine has gotten a lot better but I didn't have a whole lot of stretch marks, I don't know if the loose skin ever really goes back to normal but it will get better. I'm sorry this post doesn't seem very encouraging does it? Don't worry it may not be perfect but it will get better, I think everyone is a little different when it comes to this subject.

:) I was wondering the same here... I am in denial about the twin skin but looking down, there is a lot of skin just hanging out. I can't wait for the retraction period to begin. I lost all but 3 lbs of my pregnancy weight but I am all mushy and flabby, which I have never been like this before... fat, yes. flabby and mushy, never!!! My incision is not healed yet... I had a hematoma and I am still waiting on it to heal before I can start working out. So ashlie I feel your pain and you are not alone! I guess we are both going to have to wait the healing process out and then start the crunch marathon. :(

At two weeks I still had a little belly. By six weeks it was gone.

I still have a little pouch, mainly due to an abdominal seperation <_< , but it has gone down. While no one would ever question that I had twins after looking at my bare stomach, with a shirt on no one can believe it!! I am 2 pounds from my pp weight and overall feel pretty good. I've just started doing situps and stuff regularly and have already noticed a huge difference from that!!

Good luck, it may never be what it was, but it will get better!!!! (Thats what I keep telling myself anyway!)

I was in great shape before getting pregnant - I think this is why I bounced back from my c section so fast.. I still have a bit of extra skin under my belly button - I think it would be smaller if I could get my eating habits in check. Give yourself some time. It will happen. It's almost the nice time of year..... so you'll be able to take walks and that will help. Congrats on your new babies.

It's still SO early for you! I think I was still retaining a lot of water at that point and my belly now, at 5 months out is mostly back to normal. My abdominals are still very weak(I need to do sit-ups) but my belly is pretty much back to normal. The skin is not saggy but the texture of the skin is rough. Oh, well.

Congrats on your liitle ones!! I still can't believe my body had twins!!! You are a champ!! Well my twins are almost 2 and I am smaller than I was before I got pg with them. I certinaly had a belly for awhile after I had them. I did not have the stretch marks- I hear people talk about twin skin- I'm not even exactly sure what that is?? Sorry- I think I was just fornatute in that department. I think that is just genetics regarding elasticity of your skin. I did not truly feel like I was thin until 4-6 weeks after I got done breastfeedins at 13 months. I just felt like I had this layer... I know what you man about the belly. Everyone is different but my guess is you will have a lot of water loss and even more shrinking of your uterus to come!! In total I lost my belly within a few months. I am not as thin around the waist anymore. My tummy is not as flat. However I have not killed myself to work out either. I think I am thinner 2 sizes down from pre preg. bacause I am running after them all the time. My arms look killer!! carrying 20 lbs around all the time!! Your will too!!

For now drink lokts of water, try to watch what you eat- be healthy- sleep when you can and ENJOY THOSE BABIES. Time goes by soooo fast!! You will have lots of time to do abs when your sitting on the floor for countless hours playing with the babies!!!

at 2 weeks I still had an inflated belly. i think it matters if you had a c-section or not. I did and there seemed to be a lot of air in there after. Passing gas is a good thing! do those of you with a section have that extra bulge hanging over the scar or does it go down?

My little bulge over the scar is long gone! I'm still shaped a little differently, but its not in a bad way. I actually have hips now that are wider than my big runner's thighs.

I actually wore a bikini out on the boat yesterday and while I was a very little self conscious at first, I realized pretty quick that I just had twins 3 months ago, I should be proud of my body!!!

First of all congrats! Second of all, I know you are anxious, but give it some time! it takes 6 weeks for the uterus to get back to it's normal size.

Definately at least a month or 6 weeks for me. I knew I still had a little bulge pp, but I was in the hospital elevator going to see my boys in the NICU about 3 weeks after they were born and a lady said, "Aw, you look great-when are you due?" I was heartbroken! It does get a little better although I'm still a little flabby in the belly!

I know your concerns...I was afraid to go out in public for like six weeks because I did not want to get asked when I was due!!! Your uterus isnt even back to normal size until then so please give it some time!
I am 3mo post partum and back to my pre-pregnancy weight-now I should say that I have done absolutely nothing to get this way except breast feeding. That being said my body is not what I want it to be-I still have a little pooch and the twin skin (which if it isnt gone by 6mo post partum then I am getting a tummy tuck!) The twin skin is so gross to me-that is the worse part in my opinion! But...it is slowly getting a little better.
As pp said you CAN tell I had twins looking at my bare tummy but with a shirt on you CANT tell!

I am jealous of ladybenz looking all good in a bikini!!! :)
