I notice on the birth dates/weights list that there's a whole lot of babies coming at 37 or 38 weeks; but I'm guessing some of that is because scheduled inductions or C-sections happen then.

So I'm curious to hear from you if:

    a) You went past 36 weeks;
    B) You hadn't had any PTL or other complications; and
    c) You went into labor on your own (whether or not you wound up delivering vaginally or by C-section)

    When did it really happen?

I'm getting into the these-babies-are-never-going-to-come stage. :p So far no sign of anything, except that I have irregular BH a little more often.

I had mine at 38w4d - no signs of labor at ALL. I had a scheduled c-section because both were breech (so I know I'm not the response you were looking for), but I was starting to swell up, so I think I would have gone into labor on my own within a week of my scheduled c-section. When they monitored me at the hospital, I was having contractions that I couldn't really feel every 3-4 minutes. So, I think it wasn't far away. I did go into labor with my singleton on my own at 40w5d - no signs of labor before then, then all of a sudden, water breaking and labor starting - I started to swell a couple days before then too.

I thought for sure I would go into labor on my own (over t-giving weekend, btw), but I didn't. Goes to show you - sometimes they just need the extra time. I know mine did, because even at that gestation they were little and my smaller one needed oxygen for a while!

I'm almost 30 weeks and my babies thought they wanted to come Tuesday night....I was having ptl and luckily after a double dose of brethine and 2 bags of IV fluids they got it to stop but my OB thinks I won't go past 34 weeks.....I'm already Dialated to 1cm

I had my two at 39 weeks via scheduled c/s. I had to signs of labor at that point. Around 25 weeks I did have to go in to have some monitoring because the BH were coming often, but after some rest and alot of water that calmed down. I know it's hard and painful, but the longer you cook them the better. So hold on Momma, you are almost there. :hug99:

Real pinneapple (not in a can) will help you progress in labor. Also walking. I went in at 33 weeks so I can not even imagine how miserable you are. When you do see them and hold the babies you will forget all this. I know I did. Hugs to you.

I went to 37 + weeks due to HELPP syndrome. I was scheduled for 38+ weeks. I had no PTL symptoms. I know it is hard, but I don't think doing anything to push along the labor is all that wise. Even at 36 weeks, you risk the chance of one or both of your twins spending time in the NICU. Both my babies went straight to the nursery rather than the NICU and were ready to go home before I was (blood pressure issues). You are doing great...just hang in there, they will come when they are ready!!

I was 36 and 2 the day I delivered! Where you are today, right? I was already 2 cm and 80% effaced for about two weeks. I started walking like a maniac. Went to the mall with dd and walked it three times. Then walked around the neighborhood and house. After I tucked the kids in I even walked up and down the stairs! Finally my husband and I had "fun". I was contracting regulalry within the hour! (All this was over a day and a half.) Goodluck. Oh, and I totally missed being pregnant for weeks!

I went at 36w5d with the twins. I had an emergency c/s due to Claire having abnormal bloodflow through the umbilical cord. I had only went to L&D once for contractions, but that was due to dehydration. Besides that I would of made it to my scheduled c/s....at 39w3d! Yeah I wasn't too thrilled with it at the time, but after I had them, I wish I would of waited even though there were no complications with the girls.

I went 36 w 4 d… but my water broke because of the “fun” my DH and I were having at 2am… then I had a c-section because my Dr wasn’t comfortable doing a vbac…

Well, I'm not trying yet--I'm saving that for after my sister comes next week. ;) But I hadn't heard about fresh pineapple before. Definitely worth doing whether it helps or not. :D

37 weeks to the day...i did go into labor(had contractions since 29 1/2 weeks on), but honestly didn't know it until i went to the hospital due to not feeling my little girl move. I probably could have gone on a few more days before i would have had them, but when we found out we lost Taylor...emergency csection. Although, i know how tough it is right now...the minute they are out you'll want them back in....Enjoy it while you can.

oh, I SOOO remember that feeling of "they're NEVER coming out!"...
I was 38w4d and went in to be induced but when I got there I was already dilated to a 6cm and they were born 2 hours later (so they were coming that day regardless).
I walked everyday! Vacuumed everyday! scrubbed the floor... you name it.. I was trying it. I was so miserable and uncomfortable that I just wanted them out! LOL

I had my girls at 37wks 5 days. I went into the hospital for a NST and started into early labor while I was there (funny how that happens). We had a c-section scheduled for a week later but they decided they wanted to come sooner! I was so fed up with thinking they were coming so many times previously that I didn't actually believe they were coming until my Dr. came in and said we were good to deliver the babies. I know it seems like you are waiting for forever, believe me I've been there done that. Just hang in there, they will be here before you know it!

I had been having BH since very early - like 15 weeks but no dialation. I had a scheduled c-section at 38weeks 4 days
if they had not taken them I would probably still be pregnant with them :rotflmbo: LOL!! they were happy where they were!! both my OB and peri kept telling me to expect them about a month early - I think they jinxed me! but I am really glad they did not come too early - I just remember that "they will NEVER come" feeling!!
