When to test?

My dh and I finally took the plunge and decided this month to try for another. My cycles have always been short, around 24 days (lately sometimes even as short as 21). Today makes 21 days since my last cycle. I am fairly confidents on when I ovulated. This coming weekend would make 2 weeks. I tested last night and it was negative. I don't want to waste the second test that I have. How long should I wait to be sure that it is accurate? I swear the suspense kills me more than anything!

 

I tested 4 days before my period with the twins and i got a positive. I'm a week late right now and i got a negative .

I think it depends on how many tests you want to buy. A friend of mine got really anxious and bought a huge pack of 10 from ebay( they are very cheap) she did them almost every day starting five days before her period. It finally showed positive for her( 7 days late). Good luck!!!

In my case, with either pregnancy, I never got a positive until at least 3-4 days later...and I know exactly when I ovulate b/c get horrible mid-cylce cramping for almost 2 days.

 

I got my BFP 4-5 days before missed af. I was using hospital tests though. THey are very sensitive.

 

My DR gave me 10 HPT and I bought some from the dollar store and started testing a week before my period. I didnt get my BFP until the day I was supposed to start with this pregnancy. With my twins I had no idea I was pregnant and didnt take a test until 7 weeks and got an instand +. I hope you get your BFP soon!!

 

I hope you get a bfp! I'd wait at least till Saturday, maybe not even test till Monday! Baby dust!

 

With both of my pregnancies I didn't get a positive test until I was days late. And by days I mean almost a week, so I would say if you don't want to waste your last test, wait a few days atleast.

My LMP was 3/7/08 I have tested the last 4 days and Im Still getting BFN.. I bought dollar store tests and I just used my last one this morning.

Well, I couldn't help myself and tested again last night. It actually came back positive. The line was faint, but it was definately there! I probably wait a few more days and do it again just to be sure, but I am fairly confident it was correct!!!

Now the panic is setting in!!!

With the twins I got a fast positive about 5 days before my missed period. With Dax, it was about 2 days before and took about 5 minutes. With this pregnancy, I'm not positive on my dates but I have a good estimate. I did not get a positive when I took a test about 4 days before the end of my cycle but I got one about 1 day before.

With ovulation, I'd estimate my 3 positives were about 9, 14, and 13 dpo. If you want to save up that test until you're sure you'll get a positive, I'd wait until a couple of days after the end of your cycle.
