My twins were born at 33 weeks. If you had a preemie when did you give them whole milk? Actual or corrected age - thanks!

My girls were 30 weekers. We started giving them whole milk after their 12 month (actual age) WBV, but they weren't totally on whole milk until we took them off bottles at 14 months (actual).

We started at 13 months actual and they were born at 32 weeks. I wanted them off bottles before we started doing milk.

    Hey girl,

Our pedi just told us to stay on Formula until 12 months adjusted, but my babies are still struggling with solids and I think that's why.

Mine were 35 weekers and we started whole milk in sippy cups one week before their 1st birthday. They were really ready though & were fighting the formula bottles.

Mine girls were 34 weekers and we started them on whole milk after their 12 month wbv which was 12m1w actual age. But we weren't on 100% milk until 14 months because their lil tummies needed to get used to it.

Mine have had milk just a handful of times. Well I've attempted it but they won't take it. I have about one more months worth of frozen BM and then it's on to whole milk. I'm freaked out that they won't take it! I'm mixing some in now with the BM. I don't ever adjust ages but mine were born at 37 weeks.

Brooklyne - Hi! Not sure if you remeber me from our bed rest days....seems like a lifetime ago. Hope you are doing well. How are your babies?

My 7 year old was a 33 weeker and I started him on soy milk at 13 months. He didn't start whole milk until he was about 5 years old. Just something that felt comfortable for us - no allergies or anything.

Plan to do same with the twins; they are going to be 12 months in 2 weeks. We're starting to make their warm cereals with soy milk this week and at some point, will start giving them soy milk in their sippy cups. Hopefully withing the next three weeks, we'll get them completely on to soy milk.

My boys are 34 weekers. We started transitioning to milk at 11 months and completely were on whole milk and no bottles by 12 months.

My girls started whole milk at 12 months actual. They were 9 weeks early. I never gave them milk in a bottle, so they were off bottles at 12 months as well.

Our girls were born at 30 weeks and we started trying them on milk a little after 12 months actual age. They wouldn't drink it though. It took several weeks of consistently offering it until they would drink a cup of milk. (Also, I tricked them a bit by putting a little chocolate syrup in it at first to get them to at least try it. Once they would try it, I started cutting out the chocolate and now give them plain milk, which they do seem to like finally.)

Do you mean as a total replacement for breast milk/formula or just as a bonus in sippies from time to time?

    This would be my suggestion:

As a total replacement for breast milk/formula - 12 months adjusted age (so 12 months from due date).

As a little bonus in sippies from time to time, to get them used to sippies and the taste of milk - 9 months adjusted age.
