My kids r nearly 4 and I have been debating putting out some presents under the tree however my fear is that I I do that my kids will ask every 5 min of their waking days if they can open them! Perhaps I will just wait until Christmas eve to avoid the constant asking...
    What do u do?

I will still put presents out under the tree on Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed. There would be too many questions otherwise. As long they believe in Santa, I will keep it that way. I made the huge mistake of already filling up the stockings and my kids have already rooted through them. I usually forget to fill stockings and this year I thought I would be ahead of the game.

I have presents under the tree but they are not for them and they know it. They watched me wrap them and have left them alone for over a week now. The only present that I get bugged about is the one Josh made at school. Jake kepts wanting us to open it but it says to wait until Christmas to open.

Their presents are hiding and will be until I put them out after they are in bed Christmas eve. The things that are from me will not be wrapped but Santa's gifts will be.

When they are much, much older lol. It's going to be Christmas eve after they are in bed! We have a cat and dog too and who knows what mess they could do...

Since my childhood, all gifts are put under the tree after the kids are asleep on Christmas eve. Then they are not allowed out of their rooms until the Christmas music is playing on Christmas morning. I remember every year Mom and Dad taking a picture of our reaction of seeing the gifts. Then we don't open them until we have eaten and cleaned up from a special Christmas morning breakfast. My parents, grandma, and sister and her family will all share Christmas at my house this year. We'll do all the gifts together one at a time. We make a day of it, including breakfast, snacks, and a big Christams dinner. We open stockings after dinner before everyone departs to go home.

I guess I'm in the minority - our are under the tree already. There are some that won't go under, but the majority are there. My girls don't touch them, and I think it teaches them a bit of self control. But, we also don't do the presents are from Santa, so it doesn't make as much difference to us when they go under the tree.

Add me to the after-the-kids-are-in-bed-on-Christmas-Eve crowd. Not a battle I want to fight. ;)

I put them out on Christmas eve too. I want my kids to learn self control, but it I also don't want to drive them crazy as they see all the presents that can't be opened. And for what it's worth, my parents always put all the presents under the tree on Christmas Eve, even when all the kids were teenagers.

I am the youngest in my family and I lived at home until my early 20's and my parents would still put our presents under the tree after we went to sleep. I remember telling them "You know, I don't believe in Santa, right?" but they continued to do it.

I guess for them it was a hard habit to break. :unknw:

One of my cats shreds wrapping paper. Well, any paper, so presents get wrapped and put in plastic bags, and for the second year in a row, we will be out of town on xmas, so the presents will stay in the bags until we get to FL. But A&R know that the presents are wrapped and in bags and they leave them alone.
