My girls are 'swimming" in their cribs now. I get to them in the mornings with their legs hanging out the cribs. Can i move them to beds now.

We are in the same boat here. They seem perfectly happy, though, so I am trying to hang on to the cribs as long as possible - nobody has even attempted to climb out yet, and I hope it stays that way awhile still. I have no clue how it will work when we have to move them to regular beds - I've read horror stories of twins who share the same room staying up all hours of the night playing and never going to sleep. Ugh. I would love to read some tips from others who have already BTDT as to how it works moving them to beds when they share a room. I have a feeling we will be doing this in the very near future.

We moved over about a month ago. So they were 2yo and a couple months. They did fantastic! They are protesting naps now, though. But most days they will go down. Your's seem a bit young...but you know your kidlings better than anyone.

I moved all 3 of my bigger kids around 16-18 months, and they did wonderful. I just last week moved the boys, and they are having a terrible time adjusting! I think it depends on the kids, but don't be afraid to move them whenever you feel like it!

Mine are by no means ready to go in to toddler beds. My Dd would never go sleep on her own. She'd be the one to stay up all night playing...or keeping her brother awake!

But like the pp said, you know your twins better than anyone. You could try it & see how they adjust...you'll know soon enough if they're ready or not.

We tried to move the girls to toddler beds two weeks ago and it was awful (their bday). We decided to keep them in cribs with crib tents for a little while longer to maintain our sanity. They refused to sleep at naps and at bed time it was awful.

Keep them in there as long as you guys and them feel comfortable. The good thing about the crib tent is that my haley can no longer get limbs caught in the crib.

Here was our rule of thumb when changing...if they can understand rules and consequences, and can follow directions fairly well, then they are ready. We moved at 26 mos. and adjusted very well to the change.

2 1/2 for my oldest DD and it was awful. I wish we had left her in the crib longer - she was constantly getting out of her bed plus I think she felt overwhelmed in a big bed. My twins are 16 months and I have no plans to move them any time soon. Our cribs were recalled and I just ordered 2 new ones for them last week, no way am I giving them up yet! I'm all for containment for as long as possible! I'm hoping to get atleast another year from the regular cribs plus I ordered ones that turn into toddler beds with little rails.

We've been debating that same issue, and I don't see my girls being ready, but I also have caught them trying to get out of the bed, we've already lowered the matteress as far down as we can, but they are trying to get out, and now I'm scared they might actually do it and fall, but I can see them getting out of bed and playing all nap time or bed time, getting in the drawers making messes and all of that stuff and I don't know if I'm ready to deal with all that, so I'm left up in their air.

I don't think mine are ready yet, I think there'd be a party in their room each time they went to bed. We plan on waiting until around age 3. They are in cribs with crib tents, to keep them from climbing out.
