    Hey,

Just wondering when you ladies switched from sleepsacks to a quilt and pillow? One of the girls is such an active sleeper i'm not sure a quilt would work? I can't wait to tuck them in and make them all snug as a bugs but i have visions of Amber throwing the quilt off her and sleeping on the pillow while doing a handstand

We gave my girls pillows and a blanket (other than a lovey) when we transitioned them to Toddler beds at 20 months. They are now 27 months old, and they both still tend to kick their covers off from time to time. Thankfully we live in a pretty warm climate, so it doesn't get too cold for them at night.

My nanny made the boys small fleece crib pillows for Christmas because they love to pull the cushions down from the couch and flop on them. Mostly they ignore them but sometimes I find the boys curled up around the pillows.

I don't plan on giving them blankets for a while. They are really active sleepers and I don't think they are capable of pulling a blanket over themselves if they got cold in the middle of the night. We have fleece sleepsacks with "legs" so they can walk around in their cribs without tripping. It gets really COLD here in the winter so they need to stay warm at night.

We've been using crocheted blankets for about a month. DD keeps hers on pretty well, but DS doesn't care too much for his. When they are older (maybe 2) we will probably add pillows and maybe a heavier blanket/quilt. Right now we use a lot of layers to keep them warm ... we never did the sleep sacks.

Both my boys wear sleepsacks, i recently got them the ones with the feet in them, but at 1 yr old i gave them blankets, I hang the blankets over the side of the crib (they are small blankets) and they pull them into the cribs, but do not really cover themselves in them, but sometimes they hug the blankets, i have yet to give them pillows, probably when they get to be age 2 or older...we'll see...

Thanx everyone! We have just bought them larger sleepsacks so there is no rush to do it yet. I'm in the uk and it does get chilly so i'll stick to what we know. Aw Valerie that's so sweet, Amber sleeps on her front and she often snuggles her lovey and teddies it melts my heart. I might just see how they do with a lightweight pilloq for now, just for comfort really. Amber the crochet blankets and layering are a great way to introduce it, i'll remember that one.
    Thanx again :)

We kept the sleepsacks until they switched to beds and had proper quilts (well E & E have not switched yet). Pillows was a different issue. Bryony had a pillow in her cot from about 17 months because she really liked sleeping on things. Alyssa was a bit later, but still before switching to beds, I think she was about 20 months. Naomi and Luke didn't get pillows when they switched to beds because they were just as happy without, they were almost 3 before they started using pillows. Eleanor doesn't have a pillow yet, she's not showing any sign of wanting one, and Ethan is still too young.

We're still using sleepsacks and I love them. They're so easy & I know the kids are staying warm at night. I'm getting ready to buy some sacks in XL with feet in them & I think I'll just keep using those until they fight me on them. :p
