When to do baby showers?

My mom and MIL are both wanting to put together baby showers for us! I'm so excited! In trying to pinpoint a date, we were considering the holidays and the babies' due date (no later than Jan 15) and possibility of bedrest or early labor, etc.

Are the first few weeks of November too early to plan the showers? If we get them in before Thanksgiving then we don't need to worry about other peoples' holiday plans and travels. But, I don't want to have them too early.

What do you think? Thanks!

 

my due date was Feb 5 we had our shower Nov 10th I was 27 weeks it was perfect as I delivered Dec 19 at 33 weeks.

I think early November is totally fine. A couple months early is the right time in my opinion. Mine were just a month before my girls came and I was super huge with super huge cankles! Good luck with your baby shower

The twin nurse/coordinator at my perinatologist suggested having as much done by 28 weeks as possible, including showers. My shower was this past weekend and I was 26W. The weekend just worked out best for my friends throwing the party. Plus now I have plenty of time to pick up anything that we still may need before they come (Which is pretty much everything!! We're woefully unprepared right now).

 

My 40 week due date is January 10 and I am having my shower on November 1. I will be exactly 30 weeks. I am a little worried that it will be to late, but I am on bedrest I am planning on moving the shower to my house and just hang out on the couch while I eat, socialize and open gifts! Hopefully it will work out.

 

I think the beginning of Nov. is just fine.

 

From what I've heard, I'd try to do it around 26-28w, so early November (or even a little earlier! ) sounds good.

 

I had mine at 29 weeks and it was a perfect time. I was "big" enough for everyone to see me obviously pregnant but it was early enough that I still felt good and was able to have a good time. If you are taking the holidays into consideration too than I would just have it earlier. Everyone will understand I am sure-they did with mine. Plus it will give you plenty of time to figure out what you still need

 

I think Nov. would be GREAT> I think you could even do the end of October. With the holidays and all you need to have alittle bit early

My mom has my shower planned for when I am 30.5 weeks November 8th. I too am feeling the same way. Wondering if that is too late, worried about not having everything done, washed and put where it needs to go in time for the delivery. I hope I will be feeling up to it and that I get most of what I need. For my sons shower it was when I was 36 weeks along (singleton preg), attendees mostly gave me 0-3 months clothing. No one shopped off my registry like I had hoped. I ended up having to exchange the clothes for bigger sizes and DH & I had to foot the bill for all the big stuff....I am hoping this time around people are more generous since it is twins. We only kept our sons crib and gave his swing etc. away...we need practically EVERYTHING!!

we had mine the day i turned 30 weeks. i had them 3 days later

 

my 40 weeks is january 8th and i am having mine october 11. i will be 27 weeks. you should be just fine! its never ever ever too early. i would rather be too early and be prepared then be too late and be a mess! congrats and good luck!

 

I had my shower about 28 weeks ... it was perfect timing. I was pretty big, but not too big ... and I was able to enjoy it.
