My niece, who was a singleton didnt walk until she was almost 20 months! She was potty trained before she could walk! LOL! They told her not to worry, but since your kiddos were premature, you might want to check with your doc... But Ive heard as late as 2 and not having to worry about it!

Joey is a 30 weeker and didn't walk well until the end of her 15th month, just about 16 months. I thought it was taking her forever because DD1 was walking at 11 months.

It's hard when all the kids her age were walking and she wasn't but I just had to remember to give her time. She does things at her own pace. I'm sure they're fine, but talk to your ped if you're concerned!

We walked in our 15th month. It happened out of nowhere!!! Are they demonstrating other skills that often precede walking, such as pulling up, cruising on furniture, etc.?

I would say as long as they are demonstrating the skills like Kate mentioned above, then I would not be too worried. I believe the 'range' for walking is 9 months to 18 months or there abouts?

My girls were also 31 weekers. Lily, in her true way early for everything fashion, walked at 11 months. Grace, on the other hand, isn't walking yet. EI sees her, and there are no issues. She just doesn't want to walk yet. She has all the skills to do it, she's just not interested...we've started referring to her as Princess. ;)

Normal range is 9-18 months actual, per my pedi. So Grace has until she's 20 months (to adjust) before they get concerned. I am hoping she does it soon!! As the other PP's said, she's pulling up, crusing, walking when holding her hands, etc.

Mine are 30 weekers and started walking shortly after 14 months. They cruised around furniture for a month or so before walking. I think as long as they are cruising, they will get the hang of it. It happens so fast. One day they were cruising, the next they were walking!!!

Ainsley didn't walk until almost 19 months, and probably at 15 months, she was in the "showing no interest" category. I think she was pulling up by then, but did not show any desire to let go and walk. Considering that yours were early, I would go by adjusted age on that, and even so, they are still well within the norm.

Sounds like they will walk anyday now! Cruising and pulling up are good signs, esp. for 31 weekers!
