when they wake up too early for a nap

my LOs afternoon nap is sometimes great - 2 hours, and other times they get an hour and then wake up fussy and still tired.
i sometimes leave them to fuss and *sometimes* they fall back asleep. its becoming a bit more rare now. i put them down around 145 and by 2 they are out. (well one of them didn't go 'out' until 215 today).
i guess my question is that someone always wakes up early and then wakes the other one up.

what do you do in that situation?

I usually left them to fuss or play or whatever until naptime was supposed to be over, unless one of them really got started crying & then I went in and got them up.

they BOTH cry - like cry, cry, lol.
naptime is not supposed to be over, technically. one LO just woke the other one up and now they are both crying.

Mine do that sometimes. We actually have a playpen set up in another room and I sometimes move the fussiest one to it and try to get them back to sleep. If not, then naptime is over and it sucks!!!

This is what I did with one exception. Rather than get them up, I'd stay in the room or go in and out to soothe so they didn't feel abandoned but only if they were royally flipping out. If they were just crying because they wanted to get up and it wasn't time then I let them be. When they weren't able to manipulate me into getting them up early, they went back to sleeping well.
