when should I worry?

I think that because my boys are identical I natually assumed they would hit milestones at the same time. that was apparently a silly thing to think. Lance seems to be the more agressive one (but only by a little), and he's been rolling over for a while now, but Cameron barely even rolls to his side. they are 5 months old, but they were 5 weeks early, and if I'd just had Cameron I wouldn't be worried...yet. but since I have Lance to compare him to I'm getting concerned. the funny thing is that Lance is baby B, I thought baby A was supposed to be ahead? anyway, does anyone know when I should be worried about Cameron not rolling over? also when your twins didn't do things at the same time how long was it b-4 the 2nd one started doing it too?

    thanks
    Michelle

I would think he will begin doing it fairly soon.

Have you mentioned it to the DR yet?

One DD didn't roll over until 5 1/2 months, the other about 2 weeks later. They were born 4 weeks early, so adjusted age pretty close to your kiddos. I try not to worry about milestones, but I still do. I've heard that along with adjusted age you can also count + - 6 weeks or so for milestones.

My DD has rolled over but my DS has not. I mentioned it to the dr at our last visit and she said not to worry he will either do it or may not. She was not concerned about him not doing it and they were almost 6 weeks early born 34w 3days

Try not to let it bother you, every baby is different (even IDs) and they'll reach milestones at their own pace. I've come to believe that when a baby reaches his/her milestones has more to do with their temperament than their ability.

Evan (baby B as well) has always done things before Cameron. Evan will try to do something for a while and once he's mastered it Cameron will just spontaneously do it a few weeks later. It's almost like he lets Evan figure it out and learns just by watching.

Neither of mine are rolling over, although DD will roll on her side frequently, and even sleeps on her side, but that is it. I've just now got her lifting her head up on tummy time. My pedi doesn't seem concerned at all, so I try not to be either. My DS started lifting his head up on his tummy about 3 weeks ago, and that's all he wants to do now. I know once he started doing it, I was frustrated that she wasn't, but I have to remember they are two VERY different people!

I know it's hard, but please don't stress over this. They will BOTH roll over when they are ready!! Mine were both late rollers (I believe lazy) and didn't roll over until 6 and 7 months!! My baby B (Ben) has always done everything first!! Normally, baby A (Jake) is never more than about 2 weeks behind him. I think it does have quite a bit to do with their tempermant. Ben (B) has always been more hands on and demanding while Jake (A) is more mellow and laid back. I know it's hard not to compare but they will do it on their own time!! :D

Ben started rolling around 5 months. Hannah, who was still not rolling by our 9 mos well-baby check, still did not seem to raise any flags for our pedi. She encouraged us to have her evaluated for PT if we were concerned. So by 10 months, we had her evaluated and she qualified for services. Well, she started crawling and sitting up (from laying on her back) before we even had our first appt. So I cancelled them altogether. To make a short story long, Hannah never rolled. Ever.

My kids have always met milestones far apart from one another (2-3 months was a normal gap). The only milestone they really reached at the same time: walking. The both took their first steps on the same day!

I have 5.5mos olds and Noah rolls around all the time and Jake is just content to lay on his back. I've found that comparing the two drove me nuts so I just figure though they're identical twins, they are still two different individuals that will hit the milestones when each is good and ready.

Also, Jake is a little bigger than Noah which makes it harder for him to roll around.

I don't think I answered your question but if you're really concerned, I'd check with the Ped.
