You may want to have it before 30 weeks. I wanted to have mine by the end of this month but it will end up being March 8th so I will be 31/32 weeks, I think. I don't have the calendar in front of me. The main thing is to do it when you will be physically comfortable. I am really at the point of everything is getting very uncomfortable so it may be different for you than me. Go with what feels like a good time, but also leave yourself enough time to get what is left over from your registry if you need to. Good luck.

I would say before 30 weeks as well. My coworkers scheduled mine for 32 weeks and I wound up being on bedrest by then. They still all came over to my house, but it was a little awkward with me being propped on the couch like a beached whale.

Like the pp posts said, about 28 weeks seems to be very common. Definitely try to steer away from anything past 30 weeks because you'll be tired and you'll need energy to set up the nursery and go shopping for anything else you still need.

I honestly think it all depends on how you are feeling. I started to freak out because I had mine at 31 1/2 weeks. I asked the same question on here-and most people had it earlier because of bedrest, other complications, they were tired, etc. All valid points. But for me-31 1/2 weeks was fine. I felt fine the entire time-and I think I am a rare twin pregnancy case! I was a bit tired, but other than that-it was a great day-and I had 70 people there! So it definitely wasn't a short shower either-and people came over to the house to deliver the gifts and stayed a bit.

Go with what you feel comfortable with. After 30 weeks could be pushing it, and if you want to be safe, have it before then. Most of all-enjoy it! It goes by soooooooooooooooooooooooo fast!

I had my shower when I was 29 weeks, because the doctor was sure I'd have them by 36 weeks, so I wanted to give myself time. It was the perfect time. I was big, but not too big...I had plenty of time to wash things, put them where I wanted them...and rearrange them 15 more times until I was happy. :D If I would have had my shower anytime after 34 weeks, I would have had a horrible time as I was SO huge, tired and just not happy if I wasn't laying down.

    good luck!! And have fun!

I had mine at 32 and I was fine with it physically but earlier would have been better. I know others mentioned it but... after the shower is over, you still have to pick up the things that nobody bought for you and you know you will need and you'll likely have some gift cards to go spend. Shopping and finishing up the room is exhausting when you get that far along. Just removing tags and getting the clothes washed and put in the closet was a chore.

I am having mine on March 16th, I'll be 26 weeks and 5 days pregnant :). I know that's soon, but I already feel uncomfortable, waddling, running out of breath, so I don't want to know how huge I will be in three weeks during the shower, much less how huge I'll be later than that. Plus I wanted enough time to wash everything and put it where I wanted it. :)

I had mine with my friends last week. I felt ok but was really tired and emotionally drained afterward. My Mom has planned my family shower for when I'm 35 weeks..ahhhh. I didn't want this but she is going away for vacation and it was the only time. Not sure how I'm going to make it through that one. i would say the ideal time would be from 26 to 29 weeks but then again everyone is different.

I had mine at 32 weeks and I was fine.

I think it's funny that everyone knows when their shower is going to be. We do surprise showers here.

Mine is next weekend. I'll be almost 25 weeks. I'm sure it would have been later, but my mom is going on vacation and I didn't want it too late. I'm starting to get to that uncomfortable point, so I'm happy it is so soon.

I had mine at 28 weeks and it was good I did, I was still able to move around comfortably, open presents comfortably and enjoy myself and you don't realize how much work it is to put the stuff away once you get it home, not to mention, things you need to put together. I would definately have it before 30 weeks all of a sudden it hits you you just get big and tired, At 31 weeks I had a sciatic problem for about a week, then false labor at around 34 weeks I did go to 39 weeks so it was great to have everything done and ready plus my DD was 12/26 and I really thought I would be in the hospital for Christmas. GL!

I had mine at 28 weeks, and that was pushing it. I was SO tired after! Definitely have it before 30 weeks. Then you can hopefully get everything put away. It would have been awful if I had mine any later! Mostly because of the putting stuff away. I say between 25-28 weeks is best.

My supervisor had her twins three weeks ago and we had her shower at 34 weeks. My sister is having my shower at 33 weeks. We really can't determine when we will have our twins. Therefore, if I go into labor early, the shower will still go on.

I had mine in May and wasn't due until August. But since I traveled "home" for it we didn't want it to be too late. I guess I was like 26 weeks at the time.

The shower they threw me at work was at 28 weeks, the day before I left on 'modified bedrest.'

I think that i was around 27 weeks and to me the sooner then better to be honest. I was swelled already aand any later i could not have imagined... My friend has hers this next weekend and she will be 23 weeks... It gave me time to get stuff done and then i delivered at 35.4 so it all worked out. :)

I had mine at 30 weeks exactly and I was fine. I was tired by the end of the day, but my husband came with our sons and packed everything up along with my bff's husband. I didn't have to do any work that night and I was fine washing and putting everything away after. We actually placed a huge order online at BRU with anything we didn't get from the shower or misc things we still wanted. That way I didn't have to run around and shop... besides, we live an hour away from BRU.

I would say anytime before about 32 weeks... that's when I really started getting tired and immobile. Like a pp said, it is hard to predict when you will have them, so do what feels best for you. We never thought I'd get this far and now it seems these babies are going to take up residency in there forever!!

    Early!! :p

Mine was at exactly 34 weeks, and my twins were born less than a week later - I didn't even have time to go through all of my gifts before they were born.

    Good luck!

I had mine at 30 weeks, which was perfect. My sister didn't have hers until week 35 (I'm a poor planner) and she had her babies a week later which didn't give her a lot of time to put things away- and she was really uncomfortable at her shower, too!

I just had mine at 26 weeks and I thought it was a perfect time!! Although I'm on bedrest, my Dr. allowed me to go. I've now been able to have everything washed and put away and figure out everything that we still need. I got a TON of stuff but still need a ton more so it's nice to be able to get it all done early/ You just never know what's gonna happen so better to be prepared than not! ;)

I had one this last weekend at almost 31 and I think it is too late. I have 2 more to go. I will only be able to sit and read cards and watch someone else open the gifts.

I had my first one at about 28 weeks and I was so exhausted afterwards. I had my second one at 31 weeks and it was even worse, we played that game where everyone tries to guess how many inches around you are and I was 50 in, I am normally a size 4. I think I would try to get it out of the way early. I wish I had mine at 25 weeks.

Have it as early as you can! :) I waited and had my showers at 30, 31 and 32 weeks and I was definitely feeling big and uncomfortable by the third one! Plus you could go into labor!
