When one twin has a cold

Do you try to sanitize everything that they play with before the other twin plays with it, or do you just accept that the other one is going to catch the cold too?

They've both been playing with their Christmas toys and Lily came down with a cold and started having a runny nose yesterday. I'm thinking that if Grace is gonna get the cold, she's gonna get the cold and cleaning the toys between their uses now is kind of useless.

    Just curious on others' opinions.

No, I'm not that diligent. I do try and watch them, but they go back and forth. I try and wash my hands more on those days.

I could have written this post 3 days ago. Ds was coming down with a cold and I was going nuts washing my hands in between each baby and trying to keep toys separate. However, about a day and a half after it's appearance in DS, DD started having the SAME symptoms. I tried, but I think they were both exposed and the damage done before I knew it.
Both babies are pretty pitiful, runny noses etc, but at least I don't have to worry about that part any more (keeping one germ-free).

When one of my girls gets sick...the other two are bound to be next. Just a fact of life in my house!

I also just expect the other to get a cold. I do wash my hands more those days. I've found that the other one doesn't always get the cold... HTH!

I just took my babies to the doctor this morning. We all have colds that I believe my six year old brought home from school. My son is the worst off, with an ear infection and horrible congestion. I told the doctor that I have a hard time keeping everyone separated and she said, with 3 children, I wouldn't bother trying. She just suggested frequent hand washing, especially for my older daughter and my husband and me.

I am finding every time I get sick (got sick on xmas day) that my twins get sick soon after (my daughter is running a fever right now and we are off to quick care) and I am bringing my son along as I am sure he probably caught it too. Sadness. I feel horrible cause they probably got it from me.
