When does your dr. start internal exams?

With the twins, I had them more often than I would've EVER liked. UGH! Anyway, I haven't had any this time around. Is there normally a point where drs. start those with a singleton?

My doctor must be different because I never had an internal exam with either pregnancy! I delievered the twins at 34 weeks and delivered Hannah at a 39 weeks (scheduled c-section). That is one part of pregnancy I never got to experience, not that I'm complaining.

Don't mean to sound ignorant but what do you mean internal exams?
My dr does an ultrasound every visit and that's it. the only time I was manually examined with the twins is the morning before I went into labour when I went to the hospital to make sure I wasn't leaking amniotic fluid and they checked how dialated I was.

Well, the whole finger up there to determine if you are dilated or if your cervix is changing...lol, sorry if TMI.

I only recall one internal when I was having a lot of BH contractions. That was at about 26 weeks with the twins. After that, I don't recall anything until birth. I haven't had any with this one yet. I know I get the group B strep test at my next appt on the 28th. I don't think I'll get an official internal, though, unless I say I think I'm in labor...thank GOODNESS!!!

I never had them with the twins. With Dax I had my first at about 38 weeks. She only did an internal exam if I asked because I didn't want any extra "interventions" that weren't really needed.

I never had any with the twins until three days before I was induced at 37 weeks. I've had one this time around but it was b/c I had been experiencing some contractions and she wanted to make sure my cervix was still closed.

I was it seemed like everytime I went with the twins, I was Tuesday to make sure I wasn't opening at all with this little one. I hate having it done, hope no more until I am closer to the end.
