I thought it woudl go away as soon as they sttn. Well NOT. I am still so tired. I can barely get up in the morning.

DS has been STTN for about a week and DD still gets up once.. but DH gets up with her :D
I am talking a full 12 hours of sleep.. 7pm-7am

I am getting a full nights sleep ( 8 hours) But i am still tired.. I just dont understand...

Do you feel like this after they are STTN? WHen did it go away? I am trying to cut the caffine out.. Maybe thats it?

ETA: Please please.. knock on wood after you read this.. I dont want them to stop STTN.. everytime before i had posted about them STTN before, It ended the same night i posted about it. (3x's) Its my curse..

I'm so glad you asked this because I feel the exact same. I am so tired all of the time. I've had one DD STTN since 4 months and the other still gets up once, sometimes twice, a night. In comparison to the first 4 months, you would think I would be getting plenty of sleep now. I'm also curious as to when the tiredness goes away!

My girls have been STTN for quite awhile, but I am still tired when I wake up. Maybe b/c I know it is going to be a long day. I am not used to being at home with them. I just think it is harder on me to know I will be home all day and doing the same thing day in and day out. I will be ready to go back to work. Plus I am taking a college coarse. Life is just exhausting!

I dont know if it goes away more then you just get used to it. Although-mine are not even thinking about sleeping through the night! I think when you spend the day trying to care for twinfants it just take it all out of you, it is hard work! I found that if I can get up a little earlier and go for a short jog that I have a little more energy for the day, but I am in bed by 9pm (or fast asleep on the couch) :)

Ashley, have you had your thyroid levels checked recently? Here are some symptoms of low amounts of thyroid hormone. A lot of times after a woman gives birth, thyroid levels go wacky. I would have them checked if you haven't.

This is EXACTLY what I was going to say!! 12 hours is a lot. My thyroid symptoms began when I was pregnant. I thought I was just tired b/c I was pregnant. Then my hair started falling out (mind you this happens 3-4 months post part. too). I was tested and have a non functioning thyroid. It's a simple blood test that your primary care doc or OBGYN can do.

I also think twinfants take it out of you. I'm tired - especially come Thursday and Friday. Then DH is home on the weekends, so I get somewhat of a break too. I did have all of my blood levels checked and such after they were born. All of my levels (for thyroid too) are normal. So, I'm proof positive that caring for twinfants can do it to you. I would recommend having yours checked just in case.

I am also tired all the time, I literally pass out on the couch after the twins go to sleep. I am also eating lots and losing weight FAST. I am 4kgs (about 8.8lbs) under my pre-pregnancy weight. I just think twins are hard work.

I'm exhausted. I don't know if I'm ever going to bounce back. I'm on thyroid meds and had it checked recently and it was normal. I work FT and I swear some weeks I am more rested by Wed than I am on Sun. But yeah I wake up knowing I have a lot ahead of me each day and I know I'm going to be draggin' a$$ by 6 pm. It sux! <_<

My back hurts too. A lot. All the time. :(

Twins are a lot of work. Rewarding and fulfilling, but still a lot of work.

That can do it :love0028: Twinfants are just plain exhausting, no matter how much sleep you get, then add in any other stressers and  :lazy:

My girls have been sttn for a week now and I am more tired now than when I was getting up 2-3x a night! Its like my body isnt used to the sleep. Its not as enjoyable as I thought it was going to be.
And I just now noticed I have these super bags under my eyes. *sigh*

I am also so glad you asked this. Mine have been sleeping through since STTN since they were 2.5 months. I feel overly exhausted (more then just taking care of twins tired) and actually am considering calling the doctor. I just feel like I cannot pick up the pace.

I am exhausted all the time too! One boy sleeps through the night, the other wakes up just once so I'm getting decent sleep but just the day wears me out. I work full time and then come home to do dinner, baths and bedtime with my 3 boys and by the time everyone gets to bed by 7:30, i feel ready to fall into bed myself. I do hope it gets a little easier at some point.

I am so exhausted that when I put them to bed, I watch and hour of TV and then can't function, but also can't fall asleep. I can't get any cleaning done, just not tempting enough and I don't have the energy or motivation.

On a good note... I was able to nap too during their nap time. I'd had a good 7 hours of sleep, but I was so exhausted by morning that I needed another 2?!?!?

Twins are tiring. I mean, they tire me out! And to think... they're not even walking yet!! LOL!
