I have been getting a lot of flack from people about my belly size, weight gain etc. They say it's pretty small. For twins, what do most bellys look like? I have no clue. I just don't get real big when I'm pregnant but my first baby was 8 lb 2 oz. and 21 inches long and I gained 16 lbs in 42 weeks and had him at 141 lbs. This time I'm almost 27 weeks, I've gained 9 or 10 lbs. depending on which dr's office I'm at. I measure just fine so far. My family and friends are starting to scare me becasue they are afraid I'm too small. My ex mother in law who isn't related to the babies but loves us all anyways is having her church pray for me and she is praying for me and trying to feed me food everytime I see her. I love her so much!! My doctor seems o.k. but is ordering an ultrasound to check the babies size. But I think that is just routine not do to any concerns he has. Just curious.

    My 26 WEEK BELLY

Wow! You are small! (not to worry you) I'm sure the ultrasound will help ease some worries. I'd be concerned though. So many people carry different. Good luck!

That is a tiny belly-I think it is a good thing they are doing an u/s to check the babies-it is always better to be safe than sorry. I had gained 30 lbs by 30 weeks and the weight is now doubling each week...Everyone does carry differently so try not to worry...
Good luck and keep us posted!

Try not to worry - I never looked like I was carrying twins either! You will feel better once the u/s shows your babies. You do not need to gain alot of weight to have healthy babies. I didn't gain that much with the twins - maybe 25-30 lbs - I was in the hosptial for 6 weeks and they never weighed me!!! My doc was never concerned.

I have a friend who I honestly would have never known she was pg by looking at her, not even on the day she delivered (singleton, but still). It may just be how you carry!

People are always telling me I look really small to be carrying twins as well but I'm A LOT bigger than you :) I've gained about 30lbs and I'm almost 28 weeks.

If your DR isn't worried and you are measuring fine and you are eating well then I wouldn't worry about it.

You are tiny, I was much bigger than that, but don't let that worry you. Some people just carry differently and grow differently.

Everyone carries differently, but you are on the tiny side of all of the different twin belly pics I have seen. I was huge by 27 weeks...looking full-term for a singleton. Let us know what you find out on the u/s. :hug99:

My first was also 8lbs 1oz...and I looked like I was 7mos pg when I had her. With the twins I also carried small..I probably looked about what a normal pg woman with a singleton looks... I think I have a wide pelvis on the inside, so they just kind of hide out in there... I gained 21lbs with my first dd and 31 with my twins.

You are definately small, and it sounds like you have gained very little weight. I am glad to hear that they are doing and ultrasound to check the babies. With that said, try not to worry until the DOCTOR tells you to worry! People always have to throw in their two cents and often it serves to be more scary than helpful. At the same time it is better for you to question your doctor about weight gain and be proactive about making sure things go well than to just carry on. Good luck to you! Like many others have said every woman carries differently and every pregnacy is different so stay calm and positive!

You do have a tiny belly, but like pp say- some can just carry better than others!!! Just think of it this way, maybe it just means you have extra strong tummy muscles!!!

I'm sure your doctor will let you know when and if it's time to worry. Are you especially tall? My BFF just had her baby and I swear she wasn't much bigger than you at 39 wks, but that's because she's 5'10"!

Actually I'm kinda little 5'3 and a size 3 until I was about 3 months along. I can't figure out where my babies are hiding. They aren't in my back or my sides, just all squished up inside my belly. As we speak the daddy just walked in and handed me a plate of chocolate chip pancakes (it's almost 9pm). I think he is hinting around that I need to get bigger too. LOL. Uncanny timing.

Ultrasound is Monday. I'll post and let ya all know what they say.

    THANKS everyone.

Trust me, you'll get big closer to the end. :) Your babies must have made hidey holes. ;)

O.k. I need to amend that pancake thing. He also just stuffed a cracker in my mouth, then a peanut butter cracker. Then he handed me a popcicle and then he brought me a pudding, two glasses of milk and stuffed a piece of sandwich in my mouth. I'm starting to get the hint. AND now I am completly stuffed!!! LOL
