When do you stop using high chairs?

I'm sorry if this is a sticky somewhere, I couldn't find it. Just wondered b/c we have an extra set to use outside during summer. I'd hate to let them go to waste in the garage all winter & wait to give them away if my guys won't need them next summer. Thanks!

I took my boys out when they turned 2.

Totally up to you! I have a friend who kept her kids in through age 3. I however, took mine out and put in boosters at the table at 1. I'm probably the odd one out, but I prefer the "family eating" dynamics, and they always did just fine. And mine haven't been in boosters since before they turned 2, either. They either sit on their bottoms or their knees. They decided they were too big, and that was fine with me. It's much easier to clean up after them without the boosters!

We never used true high chairs, just boosters with trays. My oldest DD used hers until about 3 - I think a lot depends on whether or not your child will remain in a chair for a meal.

Hannah and Natalie are turning 2 in a few weeks. At this point we only use them when DH eats with us - dinner weeknights and all weekend - only for space reasons. (our kitchen table only seats 4). One day soon I'm going to get rid of them - as soon as I work up the nerve to have the girls eat in the carpeted dining room

We still use them. They are just convenient for us and the girls seem to eat better when they can't go anywhere. We sometimes eat meals in the living room and the girls have a TV tray. I would like to get boosters, but the seats are just fine for now and I don't want to fork out the extra cash.

We've used boosters since they were 1. We like how we can all sit down at the table together :)

I quit when they learned to detach the tray sending everything crashing to the floor... 22 months if I remember correctly.

We still use them, and I don't see stopping anytime soon. FWIW, when we have a family meal, we just pull the boys' high chairs right up to the table - so it's the best of both worlds.

When they were a little over 2. They transitioned to booster seats.
