when do you stop giving them gerber rice cereal/oatmeal?

i have just a little left of both, adn am wondering, should i get more? or is it time to move on to bigger and better?

 

I actually used it the whole time I fed purees to the boys which was up until 13 months. I always used it to thicken them so they were less messy and more filling.

 

I also used it as long as I had purees. I never gave the girls fruit unless it was mixed with a little bit of the cereal because it gave it a little more nutritional kick.

 

I dont think my girls have had any in atleast a month. I should dump whats in my cabinet and donate the unopened boxes.

 

I think it's up to you. I'm not giving it to my girls anymore even though I have some left. There's just so many other options I never think of cereal anymore.

 

I use it when they have runny poops and/or upset tummies. I mix it with a little applesauce. We've had a serious round of stomach bugs going around here and there have been days where I fed them cereal for lunch and dinner with bananas and yogurt and toast and milk.

They seem to like it much more now than they did months ago.

I give them oatmeal and fruit for breakfast a few times a week. Now that we are almost fully on whole milk I worry about them not getting enough iron (they aren't meat eaters) and the baby cereal is iron fortified. They still like it and I sneak it inbetween finger food bites.
