When do you get your body back?

I have two beautiful little boys that are just about 7 weeks old. I know I may be a little impatient, but when does your stomach go down? Or doesn't it [IMG] Last week I had a woman at target congratulate me, I am assuming she thought I was pregnant (I was without any of my kids). My niece, she is 4, asked me if I was having another baby. Nothing fits & I am trying to hold off buying new clothes hoping I will be back to normal soon. Any advice or experience I would love.

    Thanks

My old body is gone forever....but, it definately does get better! I had lost all of my weight in the first 2 weeks PP, but my clothes started fitting better by about 4 months. Hang in there girl! Congratulations on your babies and [IMG] to the FY forum! Hope to see you around more! [IMG]

I'm still working on it. I feel like I still look about 3 months pregnant. I definitely think my old body is gone forever, but I am hoping to at least lose about 20 more lbs. to feel better about myself. Good luck!
Congrats on the births of your boys! [IMG]!

i've lost the actual pounds in 6 months right one the nose but my belly is very kangaroo pouchy,. people assume i'm 3-4 months pregnant still to this day. i don't plan on developing an eating disorder over it though so i try to just explain to people (rude people!) that this is what your body looks like after you have carried and given birth to two babies at one time. i heard it takes twice as long to bounce back from twins as a singleton, and i believe it. i'm giving myself a year. Three to four months after mine were born was when I started to look and feel normal again. Only in the past month have I been able to fit back into some my pre-pregnancy clothes, but I still have about 15 lbs to go before I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight. My eating habits right now are defintely NOT condusive to losing that last bit of weight, so that's entirely my fault.

I still have a belly, but I've always had a belly, so the only thing that will solve that is a tummy tuck one day! [IMG]

And of course, my boobs sag to South America, but hey, it's all worth it in the end really.

I still have 15/20 lbs to go until I am back to 'normal'. None of my clothes are even close to fitting so I need a new spring wardrobe. I thought I would be fitting into my old spring clothes but I was wrong!

I just lost the final five pounds and can fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes....just last night I was able to wear my favorite jeans again. I'll have to say though that my body is not the same, the clothes fit differently and some of the pants I won't be able to wear again...

  10. I lost all of my pregnancy weight (2 weeks post) but I look like a deflated balloon... [IMG]

I gained 65 pounds with the girls & had lost it & was back in my clothes when they were 5 months old. I look pretty good clothed, but my poor body is not what it used to be naked. Oh well. No more bikinis for me.
Hang in there. Try taking the babies on some walks. I know it's hard to be patient, but it will come!
    Good luck,

I think even when you get your body back it has really changed and your clothes fit very differently. You may not have the same body even if you weigh the same KWIM?

I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight about 4 months after having the babies. I also started power walking a few times a week and it has really helped to tone me up.

    Good luck to you.

I lost all of my pregnancy weight within 3 weeks, no time to eat! Then the holidays hit and I gained 10 more pounds. YUCK! My body is worse now, but I'm going back to eating healthy and hope to be in my old summer clothes by late spring. I agree, your body changes COMPLETELY! Even my "fat" clothes don't fit in the waist anymore. It does take time...a lot of it. When I get discouraged, I just look at these two miracles and forget about...ya know...that "deflated balloon, kangaroo pouch"....etc. It's not easy sometimes though!

This has been my major issue lately...mostly because I am tired of not fitting into anything! I've been working harder at it and have FINALLY broken my plateua. I gained about 40 lbs with the boys and have about 10 left to go. They are definitely the hardest! I've been just watching my eating...no desserts (like for two weeks at a time), no eating past 9, making sure i'm drinking enough water and just eating nutriously.
Anyway, 7 weeks...you have got to give yourself a break! I'm encouraged by those that have lost the weight by 10 months. I don't know how girls lost it in 2 weeks! That's crazy!
I've had 3 people ask when I was due when they were 3 1/2 and 4 mos old. I couldn't believe it!
So, just buy a couple that fit now...but don't change your whole wardrobe...give yourself time!

My boys are almost 5 months old and I still have more than 20lbs to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I put on 65lbs with this pregnancy, but I'm breastfeeding so I can't diet, and I don't get out for walks as often as I'd like.

I'm not too worried, though - with my 1st pregnancy, I gained 45lbs, was back to my original weight by 1 year, then kept losing, and ended up 25lbs lighter than I'd been when I got pregnant! I nursed my dd for 19 months, and I'm sure that's how I lost the weight. I certainly find it frustrating not having being able to fit into my regular clothes yet, but I'm trying to be patient.

I lost my weight about 4 months after they were born but the stomach for me was hopeless! I worked out and ate clean for close to 2 years before deciding on a tummy tuck. BEST DECISION EVER!! I feel like I look better than I did before twins now. I was able to fit back into pre-prego clothes before the tuck but I had the muffin top hanging over top. Since we knew we were done with having babies I had the surgery.

I still haven't lost all of my weight and my girls are 9 1/2 months old! Grr... Anyway.. a friend of mine who has twins didn't lose very much weight after she had her twins (they're over 2 now), but now that she's given birth to her daughter (she's 10 months), she's almost as small as she was before she had the twins... Don't ask me how, but I know that there is some hope!!

There's also a woman in my multiple's group who is probably a size 4-6, and doesn't even look like she's ever given birth!!

I lost all my weight after the first two weeks, but I think it was only because I was BFing. It seemed like a lot of the weight was left over fluid. Now that I'm not BFing, I really have to watch what I eat, because I have yet to figure out how to get in time to workout.

I only have about 5 pound to lose....i lost most of it within the first 2-3 weeks.

however, my clothes just started fitting this week (at least this was the first time I checked in a few weeks).

My stomach still isn't great...but as long as I can wear my work clothes, I;m happy.

I did not magically lose the baby weight through wonderment of breastfeeding, in fact I lost 20 by 2 weeks post c-section then proceeded to put 10 pounds back on during the first 6 months.

I weaned at 6 months and started the South Beach Diet. Lost 15 pounds that way. Now I am in a TEAM Weight Loss program at my gym (sorta like Biggest Loser) and I've lost 7 more this way...I really had to add the exercise back in and watch what I eat. I am within 7 pounds of my pre-preg weight now, and once I get there I would like to lose 5-10 additional pounds.

I am finally fitting into some of my pre-preg clothes and as I work on my abs my tummy is looking a lot more like it used to.

I gained 42 pounds with my pregnancy.
