    Help!!!!!!!!!
My twins are driving me NUTS!! The past few days they are refusing to go to sleep during their first nap. I leave them in each in their cribs they either play around, fuss, talk, or whine!
They had been on an excellent sched for a few months now:
    8:00-8:30 wake & bottle
    9-10:30 play
10:30 cereal w/fruit & water from sippy cups
    11:30-12:30 (nap)
    12:30 lunch
    1-3:00 play
    3:00-4:00 nap
    5:30 dinner
    7:00 last bottle
    7:30-8:00 asleep & STTN(Knock on wood)

Could they be trying to drop the first nap and take an ealier second nap but longer?
With them not taking the first nap they are FUSS PANTS until I put them down for the second nap.
Any suggestion on what I could do?

    Thanks!!

We went through this too at about 9 months and it was about a 2 week long phase and then they went back to taking 2 naps a day. You might try and move the first nap up a bit and see if maybe they are just overstimulated and overtired by 11:30?? We were more on a 9:30 and 1pm nap schedule by then, but it is different for everyone.

I agree with Rachel. I'm always surprised at how quickly the girls get tired in the morning. Usually our morning nap starts between 9 and 10. GL!

I posted this in another thread last night...

    QUOTE
My girls transitioned to one nap around 15 months. However, around 9, 10.5, and 12 months, they had disturbances in their napping schedules. I couldn't figure out what was going on at first, so I would play around with the timing of the naps. When I realized this was only making matters worse, I realized it was a phase. I decided to put them down twice a day for an hour, no matter what. I wouldn't leave them in there screaming obviously, but they were in there for a "nap" twice a day. Some days they napped twice, sometimes once, etc. Eventually the phase passed.

Just wanted to add my agreement to pp. My kids seem to go through sleep disruptions about every 2 months or so. We just went through this and I thought I needed to drop to one nap per day. Boy, was I wrong!

We went through something similar around 9 and I think it was about 11 mos. I just kept consistent. You can tweak times by about 15 min. to see where you are. I would say from polls we've done in 1-4 that the majority go to one nap somewhere around the 18 mos. mark. Hope that helps!

All babies are different, but my suspicion is they still need it!!!

I was going to suggest the same as Rachel, moving that first nap a little earlier, thinking they may be overtired? We didn't go to one nap until 14 months. Around 8-9 months, they are going through some big changes developmentally, which can really mess with the sleep!

My son just recently started taking only one nap a day and he is 17 mo. Thankfully the nap is usually 3-4 hours in the afternoon, my girls also nap in the afternoon and this allows me some "me" time.

We get up at 8 as well and our first nap is from 10:30-12 or 12:30. Our second nap is from 3:30 to 5 or 5:30.

So, I agree, try making the first nap earlier. I cannot even imagine them being able to stay awake until 11:30. They are exhausted by 10:30!
