When do they stop moving around so much?

At night my girls move all over the place in their cribs. They flip long ways in the crib. They scrunch up in the corner with their heads up against the rails. They'll sleep diagonal, on top of their stuffed animals, and with arms and legs dangling out. None of this seems to bother them... and it certainly doesn't bother me, but I wonder when they'll stop moving around as much. I can't imagine switching to real beds and top sheets/comforters if they still flip around.

Do any of you have kids that don't move around much? Is there an age when the moving around typically stops?

Well, it's not beore 29m (at least for us). :p

I honestly don't know how we'll ever switch to beds. My boys are complete bumper/rail sleeping addicts. They love to throw themselves up against the side of the crib and lean against it. They'll be falling out of the bed left, right, and center (that is if we can ever manage to convince them to stay in the bed in the first place).

A couple of days ago, Porter woke up from a nap with a crib rail imprint on his forehead. I think that probably says it all!

Check out our cute naptime pictures (note the limbs extruding from the cribs). They tend to flop around even more at night, so I have no idea how we'll ever switch to real beds either!

Mine are still crazy sleepers at 28 months. The sleeping sideways in the cribs where they are all scrunched up always gets me. Plus my taller DD is looking so big in her crib now. I'm hoping to put off moving to big beds until age 3, but I'm sure they'll still be moving all over then. We'll definitely need rails. :)

Mine are 25 months and I wonder the same thing. I think I'll try beds sometime during the next month. I'm very excited . . . I'm not sure that I should be!

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you took those pictures! My twins' move around so much at night more than at nap time. They are still in their crib and have not learn how to climb out yet. I think I am more scare switching them to their big bed because they'll be falling off the bed too.

Mine are almost 3 and still doing it. They especially love to sleep across the short side of the crib with their legs up against the rails, and the crib bumpers crumpled under their heads.

The one time one of them spent the night not in a crib (Sarah, on a mattress on the floor at my parents' house, at 23 months), she rolled off it multiple times and I kept having to haul her sleeping body back on.

So I'm another one who can't quite picture how they don't fall out of bed constantly. But I did ask that once (here on TS) and most people said after they fall out once or twice, they magically figure it out.
