When do they stop measuring your cervix?

I've been on bed rest since 24 weeks because my cervix is short. My peri said he'll stop measuring it after 32 weeks because at that point there is no value in it. When did (or will) your doctor stop measuring? Mine has been between 2 and 2.5 cm from 24 weeks. I am approaching 31 weeks and was wondering if I should stop worrying so much about what my cervix is doing...

Mine also stopped at 32 weeks. Although I still don't really understand why!

I had an ultrasound today and the Tech said they really can't measure it via ultrasound when you are this far along. And the Dr didn't measure it either. I forgot to ask him about that.

I think part of it is the difficult in measuring when you're that far along plus the fact that the more you are "messed" with down there can actually stimulate some action sometimes so doc may want to avoid that to deter any additional factors that may stimulate PTL.

I think my doctor stopped measuring about 28-30 weeks. She said at that point, the danger of preterm labor was not so much from incompetent cervix as from contractions. She also mentioned that doing internal exams could trigger labor, which is exactly what they don't want.

They haven't said anything to me about stopping measuring my cervix. They did measure it by t/v ultrasound at my 32 week 1 day appointment last Friday. I didn't realize they'd stop that. It seems the t/v ultrasound is a lot less dramatic than internal exams. I've never had one of those.

I actually had mine measured at 35 weeks by vaginal u/s. I was having an u/s to check something else and the tech said at that stage that's pretty much the only way to get an accurate reading.

So far mine has been measured by transvaginal u/s at every visit since 16w. They haven't mentioned stopping that, so I'm not sure if that will continue throughout.

I guess mine stopped at 32 weeks too. I hadn't thought about it until now. I went in for an appt at 32 weeks. He didn't measure me for the first time in months. Then I went into labor that afternoon. Maybe he should have measured again!!
