good question! I was recently wondering the same thing ... I'm looking forward to some answers. Mine have blankets in their cribs, but mostly don't sleep under them ... they hug them.

I was thinking about this for when you transition to toddler beds. Will they suddenly be ok with sleeping under sheets/blankets/comforter??

Ellie started a couple of months ago asking to be covered up with her blank-a-let. Searra still doesn't want one on but when I peek at night sometimes she's managed to cover herself up. I keep their room warm enough that it doesn't really matter for now anyway.

My girls started using blankets at night and for naps around 16 months. They still usually roll over on top of them or end up with the blanket scrunched up in a corner of the crib, but they like the concept. We've also recently started putting blankets over them when we all sit reading books. They used to see me do this (I'm always cold) so now they want blankets when they sit on their comfy chairs too.

Mine are 3 and are still very iffy on blankets. Amy will ask to be covered up at bedtime, but she's already uncovered by the time she falls asleep. Sarah still just sleeps on top of her blanket. She wears a sleep sack for warmth, but Amy has started rejecting the sleep sack (which annoys me because I just bought new ones in the bigger size  ). I worry about her being cold, but I figure that's something she has to figure out eventually. She still sleeps fine, so if she's cold, I guess she's not super cold.

I do wonder what they'll do when they go to twin beds. Right now they're still in cribs, and somehow that seems warmer to me than lying on top of a bed with no covers on! But I guess they'll figure it out. We've always kept our house very cool at night (except when they were newborns), so they'll just have to adjust.

A couple months ago the nights were really cold (for SoCal) and I made them put their blankets on. It took a couple nights for them to get it. Now they want them on even when it is 90 out (yes, earlier this week it was 90 here).

I just started giving them blankets within the past few weeks. I put it on them and then what they do with it from there is up to them. They are still wearing sleepsacks I just wanted them to know what they were for.

They do like when we are snugging on the couch and I put a blanket over all of us. :)
