Just out of curiousity, when did your babies start liking being in the swing and/or bouncy seats. Right now every time I try to put them in, they scream. It doesn't matter how calm/upset they are, as soon as I put them in the bouncy seat or swing they start fussing and it turns into all out crying if I let it. All they like to do is sleep in my arms, I can have them 100% asleep and put them in the pack and play and they will stir. They do pretty well at night, but I spend all day holding them, which is fine except that I cannot even go to the bathroom or make myself something to eat without them fussing. Any ideas? I'm hoping this is just a phase.

Probably closer to 1 or 1.5 months old for my guys. Each of my kids were different though, John and Kevin loved swings but Patrick preferred exersaucers.

My twins never liked the swings. They were happy being on the floor all the time. Cody loves his swing! His is the one that can swing either front to back or side to side. He likes the side to side much better.

Right at the peak of their fussiness thank GOD! That was about 6 weeks they really started liking the swings they were the only place they would sleep. I have never had bouncies except we have 2 at Grandmas but they had baby Papisan chairs that they slept in for the first month.

Mne were between 6 and 8 weeks old when 1) they were big enough to use the bouncy and swings and 2) they actually liked being in them. -Leighann

I'd say around 6-8 weeks for mine. They spent their first 5-6 weeks in the NICU, but we used the swings almost right away when they came home and they loved them. Mine were never bouncy seat fans though.

Yeah, I would say about 6-8 weeks also. At the beginning mine were tiny and not that comfortable in them ...

Have you tried using blanket rolls in the swings or bouncies to give some support? If you take a receiving blanket and roll it like a sausage, then you can use one on either side of the baby to give them support and "boundaries." We would put it down each side under their shoulder and up the side of their head slightly under. That seemed to help. That was advice given to me by the NICU nurses. It's fine to do if you are keeping watch over them. What also helped was swaddling them really tight and then putting them in the swing. I'd swing them in my arms for a couple minutes and then right into it so there was very little break in motion.

    Good luck!
