when do they start hugging each other?

Although I get hugs & kisses from them all the time, they've yet to be very affectionate towards each other. They play well together (for the most part) and ds does act protective over his sister (another kid one time took a toy away from her, causing her to cry & ds made a beeline for the child & slapped her!) So I was just curious, around when did they give each other hugs or kisses? Do you think it makes a difference, being b/g twins?

My fraternal boys are 25 months. Both boys have given me hugs and kisses for forever, but Jackson didn't start initiating hugs and kisses with Ethan until they were about 21 months and they shared their first hug/kiss on April 9th around 22 months. I wrote it down on the calendar and even lucked into a picture :).

    It will come...

It was just recently when my two began, and they don't do it often.

My twins are 21 months now and they just started doing it. It is funny tho because sometimes they will hug and say, "Awwww" mimicking me and DH when we watch them. Or Mikayla will try to hug Michael, but he will run away and not want any part of it!

I think I started telling them to be nice to one another when they were smaller and rewarded them both when they would kiss one another. I think they were like 10-11 months old. They're birthday was in May and it was cold the first time they actually kissed one another. I had them both in the front part of the grocery cart.

Jack likes to hug me, his dad, Sophie and the dogs!! Its very cute! Sophie doesnt hug Jack very much but will give hugs to us. This is just a new thing Jack has started over the last few weeks. They have also just started holding hands in the buggy too. x

Mine have done it for a while when prompted. Ella has just started hugging Jack on her own. They'll also grab each other's hand to dance or do Ring Around the Rosie. It's the cutest thing! Built in best friends!

All 3 of my girls will hug and pat each other. I think Maggie started it, and now they will all do it to each other. The cutest thing is that the one not included will clap for the two that are hugging. If only I thought it would always be that way...

Regan and Tessa will both "hug" our dog when we tell them to give Phoebe some "love". Recently, they have started giving each other good night kisses when we are all saying good night to each other. Regan will try to hug and/or kiss Tessa on occasion, but Tessa usually pushes her away. They both give me and their dad kisses. It is so cute when they love on each other! It makes my heart melt.

Probably about a month or so ago. Usually (not always) I have to prompt them by saying give sissy kisses, give sissy hugs, and then they start.

At around a year they would give hugs if we prompted them. By about 18 months they would do it on their own, whenever they felt like it, but definitely Katelyn was the more affectionate one! Now they can't go anywhere without giving each other hugs and kisses!

My boys started doing it a few months ago. Actually funny story! They were playing in the backyard (all fenced in) and i ran into the house to get their drinks while watching them out the window the entire time. they were running towards eachother. I thought they were going to fight again and low and behold they hugged and kissed!!!!!!!!! OMG my heart went pitter patter!!! So i would say about 28 months??????

Mine started hugging each other on command (sometimes) at around 14 months, but still almost never do it without being prompted. I think it just doesn't occur to them -- they think of it more as a party trick. However, if one is crying, the other one will sometimes come up and pat her on the back. Or the other one will bring the "sad" one her sippy or her lovey.

Abby hugs her brother all the time and he tolerates it - he won't initiate it....she also loves to hug the cat!

In the past week or so Bailey has started hugging and kissing Sydney. She tolerates it (mostly), but doesn't reciprocate. However, Sydney was calling Bailey's name in the middle of the night last weekend (and neither of them have very many words and we'd certainly never heard her say her sister's name before). It was really cute. She was trying to wake her sister to play with her.
