Just curious when your babies eyes changed color?.. My girls have blue eyes and they are almost 5 months old.. I have green and was hoping at least one would get my green eyes.. Any input? :)

brook was about 4 months when his eyes changed from blue to brown, although i always thought they looked like they might as they were are darker blue than oran's. my mum says it usually happens by 6 months but she is fond of her old wives tales!

My two's eyes started changing around 6-7 months... DD got bluer, and DS turned hazel... for now.

DS has had his very very light blue since 2 months. DD is still hovering between dark blue and green at 3 1/2 months depending on the lighting or what she is wearing. My older two had their color picked out by 3 months also.

In my non-professional opinion, I'd say they are already the color they are going to be. They may continue to change hue for a few months or maybe even the rest of their lives.

Danielle's were her blue color by two months, Rachel had dark blue eyes until 18 months when they turned more gray/green and Natalie's are similar to Rachel's right now but I think hers will definitely be hazel by the end. Typically I hear that six months is the timeline, but I don't think it's true with everyone.

Yeah, I think in general they can change up to about 18 months. DS2 now has hazel eyes... did at his 6 month appt.

my daughter was born with blue eyes
they gradually changed to hazel by a year old
and now they are a darker honey shade of brown
it's weird because literally one day I just all of a sudden noticed the changes
it may have been present or turning for some time
but I have blue eyes and my husband has hazel, so she is the only one with brown
the boys are both blue-eyed for now (20 mos)
    hopefully they will stay :)

My pedi said that if the girls still had blue eyes at their 6 or 9 (I can't remember!) appointment that their eyes would definitely be either blue or green - if they were going to be brown they'd be brown by 6 or 9 months. Either way they are really blue to this day, and neither DH or I have blue eyes!

DS had blue eyes from the word go and they have just got lighter and lighter (like mine. DH has green eyes) so I dont think they will change. DD, however, is keeping us guessing. Hers are blue but much darker so I dont think they´ve settled yet. It´s funny as this corresponds with their personalities: DS has to be first and is impatient while DD is slowly but surely. LOL!

I´ve read in my pregnancy book that eye colour change can continue for up to a year but that seems a long time to me!

My DS's eyes haven't really changed, but my DD's did. Her eyes went from a grey/blue to a green hazel beginning after 6 months. HTH :).

DD's are still very blue, but DS's eyes started to change when he was around 3 months. They are now an olive/brown colour, but still don't look like they have reached their final shade.

Both of my boys still have blue eyes and I am 99% sure Joel's will always be blue--just like his daddy.

I am not so sure about Roman's. He's darker than Joel, hair and skin too, so I think there is a tiny chance he could develop my green eyes. :)

My doc said that generally if the babies have light blue eyes they will proobably stay blue....darker blue changes into hazel
It is too early to tell with mine, but my dd was very light blue and they keep getting lighter, ds was dark blue and dependingon thwat
clothes he wears they sometimes look green

I've noticed my guys' eyes changing recently here at about 5 months from that blue to almost brown with a blue edge. . . it's weird. I have brown eyes, my DH has blue, and all of our other kids have blue or hazel eyes. I thought brown was dominant, but I don't believe it now!

Just to add a bit of craziness...dh's eyes were brown until he was in high school, and then they turned green! DD's are still light blue, DS's turned blue-green recently. So fun to wait and see!

I kept hearing this.. and waited and waited.. they've remained the exact same color since the day they were born!

I just did a little reading, because, you know, I'm supposed to be cleaning my house

To sum up what I read:
It turns out, most people's eyes have developed enough pigment to become the color they will continue to be by age three. So if your baby is going to have green, hazel, or brown eyes, they will most likely have become that color by the time they are three. However, eye color can continue to darken, change, and even lighten throughout life.

Our boys had these beautiful violet blue eyes till about 8 or 9 months. Now they are a greenish/brownish color around the pupil and a grey/blue color around that. I have NEVER seen eyes that color. They are almost a year old now so I guess that's what color they will have. I have greenish blue eyes with yellow around the pupil and was really hoping they would have green eyes, too. But the color they did get is quite unusual.

    Aimee, that is interesting!
I still do not know what colors my babies' eyes will be. My DD has dark blue/grey eyes (a little more blue than when she was born) and my DS's change from grey-blue to greenish but I never know what to put down on their paperwork :) Mine are light blue and DH has green eyes (but his mom says they were brown until his teens).
