    Hey everyone,

this is my first time posting here--my two frat boys were born just over a week ago at 35w6days and weighed 4lbs11oz and 5lbs. So far our first week they seem to be doing well, though one will not BF well and needs to take bottles so I am BF one and pumping/using formula for the other. I keep having to wake them for the majority of all their feedings and wonder how long this lasts. When will they not be so sleepy and lethargic? I wake them for feedings every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night. Anyone else have very sleeping premmie newborns?

33 1/2 weekers here. it felt like they "woke up" more after the first few weeks. it definitely fell in line with their original due date, really. I wouldn't worry, they'll perk up soon enough!

My 35 week 5 day babies woke up about two weeks after their birth, which was still two weeks before their due date. I've generally heard that around due date time.

Mine were born at 37 weeks and they woke up a little bit past their due date.

ETA, after their due date and when they had gained back all of the weight they had lost, I stopped waking them to eat and let them work out their own sleep/wake cycle. I did this however once both of them had shown me that they could stay up for a brief period.

my 35 weekers woke up after 2-3 weeks, they still slept a ton but it was easier to keep them awake for feedings. congrats on your boys! and [IMG] to the FY!

    35.3 days here.
    3 weeks for Brady
4 weeks for Danny, I brought him home with a Nasogastric tube to feed him.

i would say once they hit about 36-37 weeks they will start to wake YOU up for feeds.

i had my boys at 35 weeks on the nose, weighing 4.14 and 4.15 and they had to be woken up for feedings every 3 hours for about the first 2 weeks after that they let you know when they were hungry.

they are 6 weeks old now and stay awake much longer just gazing the room and exploring with their eyes and hands.
