I know I am obsessing about this.. thats what my DH says.. BUT the babies are 6 weeks old tomorrow and they are not smiling yet. They were born at 36 weeks.. not too early. My concern is that I also have a 20 month old who needs me alot when I am not feeding or diapering the babies. Often the babies are contnet to stare out the window, sit in the swing, or sleep the day away. I am worried they are not getting enough stimulation.
Any one have any advice for me?
    When will the worrying stop...sigh

I don't think the worrying will ever stop - you just worry about different things at different times!! it sounds like you have very good babies!! I think they are getting enough stimulation just from the things going on around them - with a 20 month old there is probably a lot going on!! and I'm sure you hold them a good bit too! my girls did not really start to smile and really start showing personality until like 12 weeks - they were born at 38 weeks. if you didn't "obsess" about your babies you wouldn't be a good mommy!

My twins were born at 37 weeks and smiled around 8 weeks. I completely agree with Heather...you never stop worrying about your kids! :hug99:

Isn't worrying the best?? :hug99: Like pp said, it seems to never end. My two were born at 39 weeks and ds smiled at 6 weeks and dd didn't smile until 12-14 weeks... so they all do it at different times. :)

Hmm...I know they weren't smiling at their two month checkup..but the pedi said that was OK, they had 5 extra weeks to smile since they were five weeks early. I think we were positive they were really smiling, and not gas, at about 10ish weeks, so don't worry! And one def smiles much more than the other...all babies are different!

My girls were born 37w2d and smiled around 6/7 weeks. Just like everything else - in their own time! This time is definitely crazy and as pp said, I'm sure they will gets lots of stimulation from the 20 month old.

My girls were born at 35 weeks and are now 10 weeks old... they have both been smiling great big smiles for about a week... but Ashley will smile at anything and you realy have to work to get one out of Alyssa and she doesnt smile nearly as much she is very "careful" and suspcious of others already!! Just different kids.

My girls were born at 35.5 wks. They started to smile around 9-10 wks occasionally. But started to smile all the time just this week. Don't worry just yet. Every baby is different & it's still early.

I worry about eveything, too! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!!!
Mine were born at 35.5 weeks and were around 8-9 weeks when we started getting those full-faced smiles. It gets better, too - they smile all the time and are starting to laugh! Melts your heart every time!

Mine were born at 36.6 weeks - David started smiling at around 6 weeks and William is only now starting to smile on occasion at almost 9 weeks. I can relate to the obsessing, my DD is 25 months and I find myself comparing their development to her!! It's tough...
