when did your LOs move to 4 bottles/day?

My boys have 5 6oz bottles and 2 solid meals a day, but it's not really working anymore. They scream like they're still hungry after the bottle but won't really eat their solids. Michael hasn't eaten "lunch" in days.

Is 6 months too soon to go to 4 8oz bottles a day? When would I offer their solid meals? I should note they are horrible nappers and typically wake after 45 minutes and still take 3-4 naps/day. Any sample schedules would be appreciated.

    Thanks a million!

Have you tried giving them 8oz? I believe I just started making 8 oz and pushing the time in between little by little until it was every 4 hours. I started with 3.5 hours and stretched to 4 hours and they would take 8oz.

our schedule looked like this ( if I remember correctly)

    6:30-7 wake 8 oz bottle
    7:30-8 breakfast
    8:30-9 nap
    10:30-11 bottle 8 oz
    lunch
    12-1230 nap
    2:30-3 bottle 8oz
    3-3:30 nap
    6:30 bath/bottle/bed

sometimes they would wake at 4 or5 and i would give them a small bottle 4-5 oz and they would go back to bed. I did 2 hours of wake time in between naps.

    GL!!

My babies have been on 4 bottles a day for about a month or so. I agree with upping their bottles to 8 oz first and then see which one would be more appropriate to cut. Our schedule is as follows (and note that we get up much later than most families! ;) ):

    10am ~ 8 oz bottle
    12pm ~ nap
1:30pm ~ 2 jars of stage 2 food (they share them)
    3pm ~ 8oz bottle
    3:30 ~ nap
    6 ~ 8oz bottle
    7/7:30 ~ nap
    9 ~ 2 jars of stage 2 food
    10 ~ 8oz bottle

I've found that the food only lasts an hour to 90 mins and the babies are hungry again, so I make sure they get a bottle about an hour after they eat then solids.

My boys have been on 4 bottles for about two months. Here is our schedule and it works well for us.
    4am- 10 0z bottle
    9am-solids for breakfast
    12pm-6oz bottle
    3pm-6oz bottle
    6pm-solids
    8:30pm-10oz bottle
Go with whatever works best for you and your kids. Good Luck

I'm right there with you!! We still do 45 minute naps (grrrr), and they still scream after eating sometimes, but it's because they are still tired, not because they are hungry. I tell them, if you only slept a little longer you would be sooo much happier, but they don't seem to listen. So, I don't have any advice, but if you figure out a way to get your LO's sleeping longer at nap time let me know :) Good luck!

We moved to four bottles/four hour schedule at 5.5 ish months. They went through a phase of still being hungry after a bottle but not wanting the solids so I changed things up on them. I started offering the solids at feeding time, followed by the bottle. They were hungry enough (because it had been four hours) that they ate the solids and most of the time finished the bottle. We did breakfast at 7 (cereal mixed with fruit followed by bottles), lunch at 11 (veggies, fruits, whatever followed by bottles), "dinner" at 3 (same as lunch), then bedtime bottles at 7 pm. Kayci's bottles were never more than 6oz but Erick could polish off 8 oz in no time. I started filling his over the 8oz line to give him a little more to get through the night. hth

I think mine have been on 4 bottles for about 2-3 months. They are getting 7oz bottles currently...

We were doing 2 solid meals at 5.5 months and now we are doing 3 solid meals a day (ususally) i can't always get that 3rd one in..

No advice, we are doing pretty much the same thing here, 5 bottles usually 4-6 oz, and 2 solid meals. Naps are about 30 to 45 minutes, twice a day, but they are sleeping a good 10-12 hours at night. Mine don't seem to want anymore than the ounces they are getting, and there is no way they'd finish an 8 oz, so I have no choice but to keep the extra feeding.

I feel like my twins just don't *want* to eat. We'll do one solids feeding a day (the most they'll eat is 1 3.5oz of veggies and an ounce of fruit.) and 5 6oz bottles, sometimes they don't even want their 5th bottle. :/
