My girls are very behind in speech but this is one thing they do. They put the name of the person before the item or always say Mine for their items. They only started after 2 years old though.

Mine don't talk alot, but they do this, even Ben who I consider to be a pretty late talker.

And they also say "MINE" all the time (which was my first thought when I read the title of your thread)!!!

One of my girls says 'Me mama' or ' me blankie'....anythign that is hers...get a 'me label!!' it is so cute! She also says 'Daddy shoes'....the girls loves shoes!

She just started this a few weeks ago and it still cracks me up.

My other girl does not do possesives yet.

I think Bea started it a couple months ago, she says "Bea's!" to anything that's hers, and more recently added the noun to it, Bea's blanket, Bea's seat, etc. Then Ainsley picked it up and she says "Ahhs" (that's how they both says Ainsley). They both don't really say the proper possessive for some things, but they will say like Mama shoes, Dada cup.

Amy starting doing it at about 18 months -- just days after her first two-word sentence ("bye-bye Sarah" :) ), she started saying "Amy shoes," "Amy nose," "Daddy hair," "Mommy car," etc.

Sarah doesn't do it yet, but she seems to be a few months behind Amy in language.

Since about 16 months Ethan & Josh have been saying "my car" or "my truck" to things that are my older son Noah's because that's what he always screams at them when they get into his toys. Now they say "Noah's car" or whatever for Noah's things, "daddy's truck", ect.
When I read the title of the post I thought you meant saying I or me. Ethan will do this when he drops his pacifier over the crib. "I dropped ninny" It's so cute.

Mine started this pretty young, probably around 16-18 months, if I remember correctly.
