When did your FF babies go to 4hrs? If ever

I think my twins always stuck to 3 maybe 3.5? I'm taking care of a friends baby and he's a little bruiser, he was over 10lbs at birth. He's been real fussy at almost 8wks and never was before. When I fed him this morning he threw up some formula after gagging. I honestly felt like he just wasn't ready for more eventhough he was fussing for food. After mega burping he finally settled down and finished his 6 oz. Yesterday I woke him because his mom was coming and it had been 3 hrs and 40 minutes. I'm thinking he needs to move to 3.5 hrs at least but I just can't remember for the life of me the signs of this and at what age. My twinkies were of course much smaller than this little sumo guy and i nursed exclusively my other kiddoes. So what age did you go to 4 and what made you do it. He just seems to be pushing it down instead of comfortably drinking it KWIM?

I think it really depends on the baby. My twins didn't go to 4 hours until they were 9 months or so! But I think my older kids did it much sooner, in fact I think that Justin was on a 4 hour from the beginning! If he is putting away 6 oz, I think you could probably stretch it to 4 hours.

My pedi stressed from the beginning to feed every 3.5-4 hours because of digestion/reflux issues. My girls have been on a 4 hour schedule since just a couple of months old. I don't remember exactly when, probably about 3 months.

My two started taking a bottle every 4 hours around 5 months and it seemed like I had so much more time when they did that.

Mine are sleeping through the night, but during the day they usually only go 3 hours. I am ready for them to stretch it out further. Of course they are now just 10 1/2 pounds.

My girls go 4 hrs when they drink their 6 ounce bottles. They go 5 hours when they drink 7 ounces. We are kind of fluctuating with all of the tummy problems we've been having...

The NICU nurses had them on a 4 hour schedule when we brought them home from the hospital at 3 weeks old. We kept with it and are still on it to this day.

I'm still waiting for mine to go every 4 hours! I think we are close, but nothing yet. So, sorry I"m not much help! I do think I remember my singletons going every 4 hours much earlier. Good luck!

My boys sometimes go 3 hours, sometimes 4, usually 3.5 during the dasy. This has been the case since about 6 weeks old.

My Matthew has been on 4 hours since about 3 1/4 months. He has always had 7-8 oz.
At 3 months he weighed 16 pounds.

Amy ,however likes her 3 hour sched. Sometimes she begins looking for formula at 2 1/2 hours. I have tried to distract and stretch but usually she wins and gets a bottle before 3 hours even. I couldn't imagine stretching to 4...... Today she actually, for the first time went 5 hours after a 7 oz bottle. She also slept for 2 hours during the day--usually a ctanapper. The longest had been 1 hour before tody- but mostly 20 mins or so. I wondered today if her weight 13 1/2 lbs. is going to be the magic bullet. She ate more and slept more and had a bigger time in between. I don't know guess we all kinda just wait and see, huh? Oh, they will be 4 months on Sat.

We did 4 hours for a while, but went to on-demand around 4-5 months, and it became more often (every 2-3.5 hours). But, they also started sleeping through the night when we went on demand, so it worked for us.

My girls didn't go to 4 hrs. till they started solids! They are hungry little girls, they like to eat! (And it shows :D !) Now at 8 months they are exactly every 4. But my son was every 4, like clock work, from the start. The girls were 6 lbs. when they were born and he was 8 lbs 10 1/2 oz. All babies are different, so I guess you just gotta go by their cues.

I can't remember exactly when we started to change to a 4 hour, but it was somewhere around 9 months, I think? I also started to cut out bottles and increase amounts in the remaining ones at the same time. We did a 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm bottle. They were 6-7 ounces.

Mine started at around 3 weeks and are now sleeping 8 hours at night. But they were also taking 4 oz since we left the hospital. Now they drink 6 oz and are doing great.

My two came home from the hospital on the 3 hour schedule and moved themselves to 4 hours between 1-2 months old. They had half formula, half breastmilk. When they started stretching out to 4 hours at night I watched them during the day to see if they were really hungry at the 3 hour mark. They'd make sounds if they were, otherwise we'd just wait up to 4 hours.

Mine were on a 4 hour schedule from birth. That is what the hospital put them on, and we kept it.

mine never went to 4 hours when they were on formula only...or formula/solids...its only in the last 2 mos (and they are nearly 13 mos old) that we're down to 3 meals and one snack a day...
