When did your belly pop?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum. I'm 13 weeks into my first pregnancy and last week my husband and I found out we are carrying twins! I have a million questions so I'm so glad to have found this website!

I'm just curious as to when your belly popped? It's weird, my pants started getting tight a couple weeks ago, but in the past few days, I feel like my belly is growing at lightening speed!

I'm just starting to buy maternity clothes and so far I've been buying my pre-pregnancy size. Did you find that you needed to go up a size as your pregnancy progressed? Maybe I shouldn't buy too many clothes right off the bat?

I felt like I needed maternity pants around 11 weeks. I did buy my normal size and did grow out of them around 6 months. I had to buy a bigger size but found that plus sized clothes worked better for me than actual maternity clothes (I am plus-sized to begin with).

 

I wore my prepregnancy size until 20 weeks (they were tight at the end). Then I bought some bigger sizes and a couple of maternity pants. I really got big around 30 weeks and had to buy a second set of maternity clothes. Now at 37 weeks (a c section scheduled for Thurs, woohoo) I only fit into a Mexican style dress, a pair of pants, and a couple of more things....... I gained about 30 pounds and started out at a size 4. So I am sure it's different for everyone, but plan on buying a couple of "sets" of maternity clothes.

 

The twins were my 2nd pregnancy and I was in maternity clothes around 10 weeks. I feel around 17 weeks is when I really started to pop.

 

I bought mine around 14 weeks and started wearing the pants right around that time, I'm 32 weeks now and still wearing the same maternity pants I got the kind that go lower on the belly, but now my shirts are getting a little short! Keep an eye on that they usually tell you the length of shirts when you buy online I thought about getting a tunic or 2! Good luck!

 

My twins were my 3rd pregnancy and I felt tightness with my regular clothes at 8 wks. Enough for me to have to get a few things a size up. Then BAM belly from then on...

I remember telling my mother around 8 weeks that I felt my belly was already getting bigger (at that time I didn't know we were expecting twins) and she thought I was crazy. At 10 weeks and 3 days, I learned I was carrying twins, and I remember going to my appointment in a pair of size 6 pants (previously, I wore size 4) and I wasn't able to button or zip my pants -- I wore a belly band over them with a long shirt. What a relief knowing why I was getting so big so fast! I wouldn't say that my belly really popped until I hit 4 months though.

I continued growing quickly until about 6 months, after which growth slowed. I'm now 30 weeks, and wearing the same maternity clothes that I bought at 3 months. But I had purchased most of them from Gap in either a size or two larger than I would normally wear.

The twins were my first pregnancy and I never really popped. I didn't feel the twins until 22 weeks and I really started to look pregnant around the 26 mark. I was all excited to get this big belly which I never got. People questioned me when I said I was having twins. I was under the impression that a twin belly would be quite large but my OB said that most women who are having twind in their subsequent pregnancy will carry larger.
