When did your babies start using a sippy cup?

A friend of mine with a baby around my babies age has her daughter drinking out of a sippy cup during "mealtime". The twins I took care of didn't start with a sippy cup until they were almost a year old. I bought a couple to try and my babies are not even interested. They were actually quite pissed about me even trying to put something else in their mouth. When is the right time to start?

I'm the last one you need advice from my boys still don't take them at 10 1/2 months. I started late (consistently) around 8 months and they really want nothing to do with them.

Around 6 months is the general rule I think but do it when you are the babies are comfortable.

I started them with a straw at 4 months, just to get used to drinking from a cup type thing. Then went to sippies around 6 months, give or take a few weeks. Just keep trying...they'll figure it out.

My girls have not interest in even holding their bottles so I have not even tried a sippy cup.

Same here and Olivia is just about the same age as your twins. She won't even hold her own bottle...shes much more content with me holding it. UGH!

My twins didn't take a sippy until around 12-13 months. I'm really not in a huge hurry to introduce a sippy to Olivia.

I bought some between 5 and 6 months and started letting them play around with them. Jack could suck liquid out if I held it up. More recently, I got some of the Nuby ones with straws, and Jack is able to use them somewhat clumsily on his own. Anna doesn't really drink out of them at all.
