I was just wondering when I could try strawberries, peanut butter, fish, etc.

I tried strawberries early on (like 6 or so months) when they started stage 2 fruits. I never realized there was potential for a reaction.

We got the green light for fish at the girls' 9 mo. appt.

We were told no PB until 2 years.

We did fish and strawberries around 10 months, not shellfish, but other fish. Pedi ok'd PB at 18 months, but we have absolutely no history of food allergies in our families.

Our babies started eating jarred strawberries (i.e. strawberry banana baby food) around 5-6 months and fresh strawberries around 8 months or so. We were never told not to give them strawberries so I did and they never had a reaction to them so we kept doing it. They have yet to have any type of fish except a tiny bit of canned tuna around 9-10 months. We have yet to try peanut butter and wont be doing that for a while still. I dont know when you can start but it can be a VERY serious reaction if they are allergic so even though there are no peanut allergies in the family the thought of a reaction scares me.

Mine had strawberry/banana babyfood at 11 months or so. PB you will have to check with your ped about. Ours has told us to wait until age 2, even with no family allergies. I think some are being more cautious with PB now. With our oldest we started PB at 15 months, and we have the same ped now, he has just become a bit more cautious with all the PB allergies out there.

Mine ate fresh strawberries around 13 months or so. Fish we got the go ahead at 9 months.

Fish and strawberries around 10 months. I think they may have gotten the strawberries before that though. PB at 11 months. I was told a year by the ped, but they had "bites" of their brother's sandwich and did fine.

We did strawberries around a year, we did fish way before that, but I think it is only Shellfish that you need to stay away from.

Our pedi gave us the go ahead for everything but Peanut Butter (2 years) and Shellfish (2 Years) at their 15 month appt.
