DD is moving around like crazy at night. On Saturday we found her 180 degrees turned around, with her head at the foot of the crib. She was still mostly in her miracle blanket but her feet were free. There has been a few morning that she has been fussy at about 5:30 (they do not get up until 8:00) I go in to check on her and she is petty much out of her miracle blanket arms an legs and her face has been up along the side of the crib against the bumper or she is sideways in her crib. She is able to move her face away from the bumper though. I put her back in her miracle blanket and she usually goes right back to sleep. A few times I have to put her mobile on. They are a little over 4 months but they are 33 weekers. I am concerned about leaving the bumpers in because of SIDS but if they were not there she'd be hitting her face. With her getting out of her miracle blanket I am afraid of the lose blanket and an accident but I do not think she'd sleep as long with out it. The fact that I wrap her back up and she goes back to sleep makes me think she still needs it. Is there a time that the blanket becomes unsafe?

    What's a miracle blanket? Like a swaddle?

Ours are 3months and we've been having the same problems now with the miracle blankets so we are moving to the blanket sleeper. They are not used to it yet and the last couple of nights have been rough for us!

For the first 4 months, we used the swaddle-mes which worked great. We then moved in the wearable blanket but with the armholes sewned shut, so they're still somewhat swaddled but looser. I have slowly been transistioning them to the open armholes....I do once/week during naptime. I have read several different ages on when to stop swaddling....all the way up to 9 months. It's really up to the individual baby.

    Good Luck!

I am in the same boat as you. My babies won't sleep without their miracle blankets, and those poor blankets are getting so worn they now have little holes in them from wrapping so tight! I'm guessing they will let me know when they don't need the blankets anymore, but I have no idea how they are going to let me know!

Mine will be 6 months on sunday and we just stopped for the same reason. My bigger girl would get out of it constantly. The smaller one I can still get in it but I tried her without and she has been doing ok. This has just been for the last few nights though. I swore by the miracle blankets though.

We're still in the MB -- though we're going to transition out within the next couple of weeks (waiting for my halo sleep sacks to get here!) -- my one guy is breaking our regularly -- and seems ok (I've found him alseep - totally out of his MB) -- my other guy gets one arm out -- and sometimes one leg. He has a harder time.

My babies started escaping swaddling at a few weeks old. My son kicks off the blankies so much. We just put them in footed jamies and a light blanket. That way if they work it over thier head they won't smother. I am ultra paranoid about SIDS as a good friend of mine lost her baby to SIDS and I was there and tried to resucitate him. They are almost three months old and I just keep a real close eye on them both with thier blankies. Also my son likes to pull his blankie over his head so I make sure it's a light thermal one so he can do that as he pleases.
