When did you start showing?

I'm full of questions today!

When did you really pop? Was it kind of fast and all of the sudden?

I just told at work 3 weeks ago. Today total strangers ask when my baby is due. In the past week and a half I have totally "popped". Is this normal with twins? It's like now that my uterus hit my belly button it is wide open!

Also, if this is my first "growth spurt", when should I look for the next?

I am 17 weeks today and my belly is already quite big. I think it has been obvious to the outside world that I am pregnant for several weeks now.

 

Sounds like the right time to me too...but as for the next growth spurt, my Dh just said last night that he thought I've gotten bigger this last week. I still hear from people that I'm still "small" for having twins (which is hilarious if you ask me...I feel ginormous!) So I've got a feeling I'll get really big these last few months. I keep waiting for those, "you look like you're gonna pop anyday" comments...but they haven't happened yet.

i think that i really popped out at around 14 to 15 weeks. i'm at 19 weeks this week and i am (or i feel) huge--lol. i can barely walk in a store for more than 10 minutes before i have to find a place to sit. i feel like a penguin walking out to the parking lot to find my car. good thing that i have a good memory (sometimes) and i can find my car--lol. i do know that i can't chase after my 3 year old anymore without causing some kind of hurt or damage--lol. and she definately gives me a run for my money if she isn't restrained in a stroller or grocery cart.

At 15 weeks people who didn't officially know I was pregnant guessed I was about 5 months along! At 17 weeks I really popped!

We are TTTS survivors!!!


Was your size due to the TTTS? I think that is at the heart of my question....I am concerned about TTTS and read that a sudden change in fundal height can indicate a problem. Part of me feels like it was just time to start looking preg and another part is concerned that something is wrong.

 

We've been taking weekly pictures at work. I thought I remember thinking I was starting to show at about 15 weeks, but looking back now, while that was when I grew out of all my clothes, I didnt really have much of a belly until 17 weeks. I DEFINATELY had a growth spurt in that time period though. My next one was somewhere around 23 weeks, and I've been growing by the minute ever since! (27 wks now)

 

I swear i popped the minute i found out i was pregnant with twins. But by 15 weeks i looked pregnant and now I look like i should be giving birth (he he)

 

I started showing really early but it wasn't totally obvious that I was pregnant. By about twelve weeks people really started looking at my belly. From then on it seemed like I got bigger and bigger everyday! It finally started to slow down a little bit at around 21 or 22 weeks.

 

Well I wasn't huge, but I have a tiny frame... I grew out of my pants with-in 2 weeks of finding out & by 7 weeks I had a good gut (no gain yet). At 12 weeks I had a real belly & if I wore anything slightly fitted you could tell. By 15 weeks I was in full on maternity tops. BUT I still wasn't that big for twins. At about 19 weeks my uterus tilted foward(part of the reason my OB hadn't noticed the twins yet!) & I have just been growing since!!! I started out in small shirts & a few meds... in the last 2-3 weeks my large shirts are already starting to get to short, though they still have plenty of room around. On one hand I wish it would slow down a bit, but on the other hand I wanna make me some healthy plump little girls!!!

 

At 15 weeks, I just looked like I ate a little much, but did not look pregnant yet.
All of a sudden, at 17 weeks I popped a little bit, and finally people could tell I was pregnant. I kept growing overnight every day after the 17 mark, and now at 21 weeks I look like I'm 6 months w/a singleton, although everyone at work still says I'm small for 5 months with twins.
I do think this will change as I literally grow day by day. And my tummy is nice and round and right in the middle, and my belly button has turned out....... I love the look, b/c I finally look preggo and look cute in maternity tops. Only thing I hate is the back pain I think from growing so much so fast.
Oh, I'd have to say between week 18 and 19 there was a huge growth spurt that week. The difference in the pictures is amazing.

 

Friends could see the tummy at 12 weeks and regular customers at work started asking when I was due at 16 weeks. Random strangers started asking when I was due at 18 weeks when it was VERY obvious I was pregnant. I think you're right on target.

It all made me wonder how in the heck women (before routine ultrasounds) could get through an entire pregnancy and be surprised at the end to learn they were having twins! Friends who had singletons didn't get stranger questions until they were seven months along.

 

At 9 weeks you could tell that I was pregnant. At 13 weeks I had to start using maternity clothes. I had a friend come in from Tenn. for Mardi Gras and I had the wonderful comment that I look 8 months pregnant. I was 16 weeks at the time. Now I am 18 weeks and I was at the doctors office yesterday and I was sitting on the table waiting for the doctor to come in when dh says "Let me see your belly. Are they sure you don't have two babies that are 6 months because your huge". Boy am I glad I am all baby so far. I can't imagine what I would look like if I was swelling all over. I know I am getting bigger because I can feel myself waddle so I try to pay attention to how I walk.

I started wearing maternity pants just this last week - at about 11 weeks. This is my 3rd pregnancy, so I think that has something to do with it as well.

This week I have really popped out, at least to myself and my hubby and coworkers.

 

I could tell I had a belly starting at abotu 14 weeks. This past week my belly has gotten huge and it is very obvious I am pregnant. I can almost feel it growing right now.

 

I remember having to buy xl scrub tops ( for work) at around 8 weeks, and lying to the sales girl telling her I was 4 months because I felt stupid telling her I was only 2 months.
It even made things worse when my co-worker was 13 weeks ahead of me and still had not bought bigger tops.
We didn't find out they were twins until my 18 week u/s. ha ha
So yes I showed very early, but I was extrememly bloated too, so I think it was part of the reason.

I feel silly posting this - but I am just 8 weeks and told dh yesteday I was showing.
This is my second pregnancy and I am 5 feet tall with a very small frame, so I think that may have something to do with it though.
Kind of scary since I have such a long time to go. I can only get into pants with elastic waistbands I think.

 

stbmomof3_ hun dont feel silly, Im not even 8 wks yet and am starting to show a lil. Its mostly at the end of the day where i show the most and mostly its cuz i am bloated. I have the worst gas. I also have a small 5 ft frame and am small boned and have m/c 3 times before at 13wks. I just m/c first of Jan at 13 wks and so that might be a lil of my problem, since i have a little excess wieght from that pg. anyways can you believe us lil 5 ft frame girls are already starting to show and not even to our 2nd trimester? oh man my DH is gonna be able to roll me wherever by the time im suppose to deliver lol!

Although the calculations add up to me being 6.5 weeks the MD said I was 7.5 weeks. Either way, I have started to show. About a week ago I noticed my stomach becoming hard and now its starting to pop out a little. Sure will be interesting to see how much longer I can wear my regular clothes!

 

I started not being able to button my pants over my belly at 10 weeks or so... But there was NO DOUBT I was pregnant by 15 weeks or so. I started getting the 'any day now' comments from about 19 weeks on...

 

I felt like I was showing at 6 weeks. thats when i was in maternity clothes. I guess it all depends on whos looking at you. When I was 4 moths, the lady at the maternity clothes store, said "so you're about 7-8 months?" I laughed alot!!!!
I think it was around 18 weeks I really started to pop...over christmas I gained about 8lbs...and really got big. Now I am 29 weeks, and I can't imagine that I have another 7-8weeks left to grow!!!
