My LO's have been on solids since about 4 1/2 months old. They've had all the veggies and fruits now and I was just wondering when you started to add in meats and dairy? I looked on wholesomebabyfoods.com and it says to ask your Pedi about meats and then 8 months for dairy. When did you all start?

We did both at 8 months since ours were preemie the Dr told us to hold off until then.
    Good Luck :)

I did meats at about 7-8 months and no dairy for the boys until after a year due to a potential milk allergy. But with DD I started doing YoBaby yogurt after our 9 month appt.

I started solids at 6 months and meats at 9 months. I added yogurt (dairy) at about 11-12 months.

Pedi said Yobaby at 6 months. Once mine were through all veggies and fruits, I called and they said to move to stage 2 which has meats. My DS doesnt want baby food anymore, so I have started to introduce small pieces of meats and cheese. He loves it, DD is still into pureed foods.

We started meats after 9 months. Not jarred meats, but real meat, cut up really small. They loved it. I was doing the jarred stage 2 meats/veggies before that. We started yogurt at 8 months, but I think we could have started at 6 months. My pedi never mentioned it to me at 6 months, but did at 9 months. It all depends on your pedi. One pedi will say yogurt is ok at 6 months and others will say 9 months. I went by all of my friends and what they were feeding their babies.

We started solids at 6 months with one meal and added a meal each month so by 8 months they were getting three meals a day. I started dairy and meat then to make sure they got enough protein since I was afraid they'd nurse less with so much food! So short answer, 8 months :)

we started meats almost right away when we started solids (at 6.5 months - it's recommended in Canada that meats be one of baby's first foods). i found they liked it best when it was pureed with something else like squash. then dairy we started around 8 months. the first few times we tried it both girls had some really weird bowel movements so i just waited a week or so & tried again. now they both do fine with it.

we started chicken at about 6.5-7 months, and other meats (including fish) during their 7th month. We started dairy at 8 months.

Thanks so much!! Maybe we'll give it a try once we get past the 7 month mark. I think they're starting to get bored with the food offerings. Maybe adding some meat will spice things up a bit and we can check out the yobaby towards the end of 7th month/beginning 8th month.
