When did you put the car seats in the car?

I already have our bags packed, but when you did you put the car seats in the car?

 

We didn't put the seats in the car until they had the babies in them!!!

Since each one stayed in the hospital after delivery, (Colin 2 weeks, Ryan 3 weeks) I didn't bring the seats to the hospital until they told me I would be bringing one home that day.

 

Well since my twins were in the NICU we didn't put the seats in the car until we knew they were coming home. Also many NICU's require carseat tests on any babies born before 38 weeks, but you only need the carrier for that not the base.

With my oldest we put it in around 36-37 weeks. We thought she would be early since I was 3cm and 70% effaced at 37 weeks, but she didn't come until 41 weeks.

But I would go ahead and do it if I were you, just one less thing to worry about then. I've always had mine done by someone that is certified, either the fire station or a carseat check.

 

Probably the day after I delivered..my husband was in the parking lot trying to figure it out! Luckily, a nurse came out to help and make sure they were installed correctly!

 

I've heard that most people don't install infant seats correctly. There is a rescue squad/fire station a mile or two from our hospital that installs them and checks them 7 days a week. Your hospital may be able to make recommendations about who to go to.

 

My mom had them put in while we were at the hospital!

Just a reminder to have them checked after you install them to make sure they are in right
