When did you put away swings and bouncers?

At what age did you put away swings and bouncers? We just put a playzone in the middle of our living and have so little room to walk now with everything out, including the play pen, exersaucers, jumperoo, car seats, high chairs, and learning table. We put one bouncer away since we often use the car seats to sit them in. I'm thinking we need to put away the bouncers and swings if we need to... The babies sleep in their cribs and can soothe themselves to sleep more than half the time.

My two are 5 months old, and I think we are about to say goodbye to the swings, they are just getting too big to sit in them comfortably, and they are leaning forward to sit up, so I think they might fall out in another week or two. I am wondering what we are going to do, because I still rely heavily on the swings when they refuse to go down in their cribs - they are getting better at naps in the cribs, but I still reach for the swings when I am trying to bathe one and get that one fed and off to bed while the other one waits. (My DH is often away on business...like tonight, couldn't have survived without the swings!)
Ditto on the bouncers - almost fell out of one today, and the seat belt thing was ON.
I think we are looking at buying exersaucers, since the bumbo chairs aren't all that interesting to them.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we also have the bumbos out. Like yours, my twins don't seem to have any interest in them. I think you should get the exersaucers. That's where my boys play in most of their active day. The exersaucers keep them entertained and normally have some things that they can teethe on, which have really come in handy since they're teething badly lately. I'm afraid to put away either of the swings, too. Like you, I put one of them in the swing sometimes when I'm the only one home and he is crying and I need to give the other a bath or put the other to sleep.

We put the swings away around 6 months and never used bouncers. We began using the exersaucers around 5 months....they still like to use them to watch a Baby Einstein but, other than that they crawl and play and now trying to walk.

I think it was around 7-8 months for us.

The bouncers went away around 7 months (mine never really liked them anyways). There's still one swing in our living room, because sometimes it works for Grace. The weight limit is 22 pounds, so she's still got 3 more pounds of swing use to go. She gets in it maybe 2 times a week when she's fussing.

Bouncers we put away at 7 months, because they could get out of them! Swings I put away at 13 months, LOL

We never used the bouncers - both babies hated them. We put the swings away at about 5 months when they were too heavy - the swing would just stop swinging from the weight! They no longer wanted to use the exersaucer or jumperoo around 6-7 months. Bumbos stopped being used when they could sit up on their own.

We put them away around 7 months. Rosalie loved the swing, so it was hard. But she also had started grabbed the leg of it to stop swinging, and that looked pretty dangerous. Also, when they could pull themselves up to sit, they could tip over the bouncy seats. That was also scary, to see her reach for something and end up dangling like stranded paratrooper!

We recently gave away the swing. They just turned 7 months of age. My concern was also placing one of the babies in a safe place while putting the other one down for a nap. I opened up the pack-n-play in the living room and I now place the second baby in there. I put a bunch of toys in there and they are pretty content for a short period of time. I don't own an exersaucers or jumperoo so the pack-n-play has worked out nicely.

I am planning to have the swing, Bumbos and bouncies out at 8-9 months. I still use the swing when I have to switch them for bath time. I feed them in their bouncies and I use the Bumboos too. As soon as they can sit up well, I'll start feeding them in their Stokke high chairs and then most of the things can go. Can't wait!

I was just thinking about this. My swing is going away this weekend. I use my bouncy seats while I'm taking a shower, so I'm going to hold onto them for a little longer. I use the exersaucer and jumperoo- but they're only interested for short periods. I'm going to take out the playpen and see if they'll play in there. Can two of them be in playpen at the same time?

It was also around 5 months for us. They just weren't interested in being in them anymore. They would complain after being in them for only a couple of minutes and would try to get out. Then I knew it was time. I went by their cues.

My boys stayed in the swings until they were 9 months, excersaucers were around 7 or 8 (when they finally decided they wanted to sit up by themselves)

We put away one bouncer at about 7 months because one twin was so mobile that she hated being in it. We kept the other one a bit longer though, because my twin with the chronically stuffy nose was still willing to sleep in it sometimes.

We got rid of the swing at about 9 months, but we had used it very rarely since 7 months or so. We just kept it because sometimes that was the only way to get one of them to nap. But she got too heavy by 9 months for the swing to be able to swing.

We started using the exersaucer at about 5 months and kept it until 12 months! They didn't really like being trapped in it after about 9 months, but it was still useful to have a place to immobilize one of them.

6 months for the bouncy chairs..... Although we used one for our girl when she was sick.... then we sold our swing when they were 7 months... it was nice to get that space back.... only to be filled with two exersaucers! they still get put in those when I need a few minutes to myself.

I put away the bouncers at 5 months when they started to tip them over (strong rolling skills). I put away the swing when they started using it for a ladder (10 months). They liked the swing very much for a few months, hated it, and then liked it again right up until I put it away for safety's sake.

The seaters/bouncers went out once they started to really sit up approx 6 months. The jumpers and exersaucers are near extinction now at 10 months. They will stay in iy for 3 - 5 mins and that is if one is in it and the other stands beside to help play with the toys.
