When did you lower the crib mattress?

I'm thinking that it's about time for us to lower down the crib mattress. We are still on the highest level, but they are quickly becoming more mobile (rolling all over the place), and they are running into the attachments (mirror and music/lights contraptions).

What age were yours when you lowered the mattress?
    Thanks, Suzi

we lowered it when they could sit up and then lowered it to the lowest setting when they were pulling up and standing.

I think I've lowered one around 7-8 months when she started crawling and my son's recently at 9-10 months, he started to pull up recently.

Same here. And then when they started pulling up we put them on the lowest rung.

We lowered Meg's all the way when she began pulling up, we didn't lower Haley's and we should have. Not a week later, she fell out, we didn't even know she was pulling up and next thing I knew she was out and over. We never used the highest setting in the crib because they slept in the room with us, in the portable crib and pack n play til they were 4 months old.

I lowered it when Zack could pull up on it, at 7 months.

Did it this last weekend as both boys have figured out sitting, Jonas is trying to pull up on stuff, and Lucas is working on crawling.

We lowered ours when I saw my DS start to try to pull himself up at 7 months old. That day naptime was delayed and we did both cribs. A week later DS was fully standing assisted in his crib. DD is starting to pull herself up now at 8.5 months.

We're doing it this evening. James is attempting to pull himself up on things. Evan is not there yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. They're 7.5 months old.

We lowered ours a couple of weeks ago... a little before 7 months old because they could push up and reach the mobile! We just put it on the lowest level to avoid the hassle of having to do it again in a month or so.

lowered it when they started standing up in their cribs, but always had it on the middle setting - I never had my mattress really high to begin with. The bummer now is that I am only 5'3" and I have to practically "drop" the girls in their cribs as I have a hard time reaching the mattress!

I lowered it when they were rolling well and starting to push up to peek over the edge at my friend's urging (she had been through a fall quite early with her son and he's a very physical boy like my guys). They were 5 months and I thought it seemed early but as she pointed out, better too early than too late. I didn't want to mess with lowering it a second time so just went straight to the lowest level. I'm 5'7" and never had a problem reaching them.
