Just curious when everyone got off of work while they were pregnant? I am 25 weeks, 3 days along, and I am going to my Ob/Gyn today to see if I can get off of work. Life has been pretty hectic and stressful these days.. and work is probably the only thing that I can do much about. I have been pretty tired. I either work from home or when I do make it into the office I am exhausted just from the effort of getting in there and I end up having to come home early. I will have to take a pay cut to go on short term disability, but at this point, I don't care, I just need the rest and less stress for the babies! Anyone else got off of work earlier, or am I jut being a wuss?
Jen, I don't think you are being a wuss at all. YOu have to listen to YOUR body and go by what it's telling you. If you are feeling very tired and stressed out from work and can get out of work, then by all means, do it. You need those babies to cook a little while longer in there. I went to part time at work at 30 weeks and completely out at 32 weeks. :good: Good luck and take care.
I stopped at 32 weeks, but wished I would have stopped sooner Listen to your body & If you are ready then do it!!! Good luck!
they took me out at 15 weeks due to complications and I have been on modifed bed rest since then. I am now 25 weeks and looking back I am very lucky that I don't have to go back to work. I feel so tired, sore and BIG all the time and I don't think I could have worked anyway. I'm a dental hygienist and I don't think I could have even REACHED my patients at this point anyway. LOL
:grouphug: I started working part-time at 28 weeks and then was out all together at 32weeks. Even though I was put on bedrest I was planning to stop working anyway. Hope all goes well at todays appointment.
Today's my big Day Off! Then tomorrow at noon I have the c-section. So there ya go.... 38 weeks tomorrow
I was planning to work, I was teaching part-time at the time, as long as I could. I was hoping to get to spring break which would have been 35 weeks (I know that was wishful thinking). My OB had said just to take it one day at a time, as everything was going great. I ended up stopping at 24w when I had to go on bedrest after a routine appt.
24 weeks due to having my daughter at 36 weeks previously and due to my job being labor intensive and i was on my feet sometimes more than 8 hours a day.
I read a lot of doctors recommending 28 weeks to others, and I was more than ready at that point so I asked my dr to fill out the paperwork for my short-term disability. I was having some heart issues at the time too so I thought it was reasonable. The dr's office forgot to mention in the papers that it was a twin pregnancy and I was initially denied. I was so upset! They said there was no reason for me to go off work. I mentioned offhand that I was having twins (assuming they already knew this) and they said "oh you are???" Turns out they automatically approve twin pg leave at 28 weeks. So I got the approval 1 day before my planned leave. I would check with your insurance company and see what their policy is regarding twin pregnancy leave. Without a specific complication I would not have been approved for leave earlier than 28 weeks. I didn't think I was really that tired until I went on leave and realized how hard it was to get up and go to work everyday. I was so glad to have the time to rest and take care of the three of us! I ended up carrying them until my planned c/s at 38 weeks and I'm sure all that rest didn't hurt!! Good luck.
