When did you go off bedrest?

Just wondering for those of you who have made it throught bedrest--when did your doctor take you off? Or for those of you on bedrest, when is your doctor taking you off? I'm 34 weeks today and I had one doctor say 34 and one doctor say 35 (high risk vs. OB). I also had another doctor in my practice say there was no evidence that bedrest did anything anyway. Just wanted to see what everyone else was hearing.

I was on bedrest from week 29 to week 37 when they tried to induce me, so not really taken off bedrest, it was for PTL.

Yep I have a doctor that is taking me off @ 32 weeks, but will remain on the meds(im getting a terb-pump,currently on procardia)Im here due to short cervix, and he doesnt belive Bedrest is the answer either.NOW my MFM will have his own reccomendation as well, but Personally I think listening to your own body is the answer.I was dialated to 3 & 80% effaced with my last pregnancy @ 32 weeks,my MW never put me on BR,and I delivered @ 37 weeks, and worked 40 hrs a week, untill my water broke!

Some doctors belive Bedrest in inconclusive in some cases, and can do more harm than good(muscle loss, blood clots etc...)

Im not going back to work, but Im getting out off this bed! LOL

    Hang in there Hugs J

My doctor had me stay on it till I delivered (by scheduled c-section) at 37 weeks. I was only on modified bedrest, though. I think she just didn't want to take any chances, and figured the longer the better.

I've also heard the arguments that bedrest doesn't really do anything, and maybe that is true in some cases (depending on what the reason was for it in the first place) -- but in my case, lying down as much as possible did seem to ward off contractions. Plus, I was so uncomfortable I couldn't do much anyway. But I don't know if my doctor would have insisted on strict bedrest for nearly that long.

My MFM was going to loosen up my bedrest restrictions at 34 weeks. But I only made it to 31 weeks. I did not see an OB, so only one opinion on that.

Thanks for the responses! It seems like it totally depends on your doctor. I was taken off bedrest today at a little over 34 weeks--yay! So good for the emotional state of mind. My OB recommended that I spend as much time as possible in the pool.

Put on at 26 weeks and taken off at 30 weeks. When the OB discovered that frequent contractions were not changing my cervix. I'm definitely taking it VERY easy, though. Pretty much spend most of my time down - not always on my side, but certainly not up and about.

    Hi,
I was on bed rest from 24 weeks until I delivered at 36 weeks. My MFM said I could be off bed rest at 34 weeks, but I felt really bad by then. I was huge and had lost all of my stamina. I changed over to modified bed rest, but didn't do too much. I ended up with pre-e at 36 weeks and they induced me (ended up with a csection). Beth

I was dealing with TTTS, so when the MFM docs said they would induce me at 35 weeks if I made it that far, it had to do with issues related to TTTS. My regular OB said I would not be off until I gave birth. . . no one expected us to make it to 28 weeks really.

When I did bedrest with a singleton, they let me up at 36 weeks.
